WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A new Republican bill to replace Obamacare will be unveiled in the U.S. Senate on Monday with backing from President Donald Trump, according to one of two Republican senators who have crafted the legislation.
The lawmaker, Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, told reporters he was optimistic the legislation could pass before a Sept. 30 deadline. Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell has said he will hold a vote if the bill can attract support from enough senators for it to succeed on a simple majority.

Oh my. What a difference a day makes.
Uh-oh?!...hmmmm wake up call?!
The Art of the Deal ;)
Please. What's so hard about simply REPEALING THE FREAKING THING!!!!
What about the “new repeal bill” brought up by McCain and Graham? Is this the same one, and they put this guy up to introducing it?
Maybe McCain nixed the last one because he knew his girlfriend Lindsey had one of his own, and they wanted IT passed instead of the original.
Something fishy going on here.
I wish him well. Almost anything would be better for America than this high priced dysfunctional boondoggle. It would be cheaper to issue mini-med plans to the welfare set, as troubled as the concept of faceless government welfare is, than this.
I’d like to see the details of the this bill, first.
The dystrophy of what would otherwise have been there to run such a scenario. That’s what. We are in a rehab situation now.
Politicians love dramatics. Makes them look important.
Let’s not start giving high fives just yet.
It could turn out to be another crap sandwich.
No, Cassidy has been working on the bill since the beginning, with Rick Santorum, Scott Walker, and the House Freedom Caucus.
In other news, Sunday afternoon there will be a planned Anti-Trump rally for all Anitfa on South Beach in Miami, Florida. Anit-Trump participants are encouraged to show up on time.
So it's not an Obamacare repeal bill, it's an Obamacare replace bill. Or, more likely, an Obamacare tweak bill.
A replacement bill was ALWAYS in play and the big thing was “mandatory”.
So repeal one train wreck of a healthcare plan and replace it with another. Excuse me while I contain my enthusiasm.
“Repeal” does not mean “repeal”. Very Clintonesque abuse of language.
They don’t have the votes
Likely an act to drum up his re-election votes and base...Likely doesn’t even want it to pass knowing the leftie loser Senate is next.
