Dangerous Category 5 Hurricane Irma had a devastating impact on islands in the Caribbean.
Hurricane and Storm surge watches were issued Thursday morning for South Florida. The Florida Keys began evacuating visitors and residents, followed by flood zones in Miami and Miami Beach. Sarasota FL declared a local state of emergency Thursday morning.
Polk County FL Sheriff Grady Judd said Wednesday that law enforcement authorities would check the identities of people who turn up at shelters--and take to jail anyone found to have an active arrest warrant. “If you go to a shelter for Irma and you have a warrant, we’ll gladly escort you to the safe and secure shelter called the Polk County Jail... “If you have a warrant, turn yourself in to the jail — it’s a secure shelter.” Judd also posted that sex offenders and sex predators would not be admitted to the shelters. "We cannot and we will not have innocent children in a shelter with sexual offenders & predators. Period." Judd's statements unleashed a liberal firestorm via Twitter.

Control myself? It was the theological (and ad hominem) post by the OP herself ("Dude, get a life. According to you, your God is killing innocent people just to punish a few, you are a sick individual") in response to someone that I saw and responded to, as it called for rebuke.
Thus if you do not want to see such then try to stop what provokes such correction, and while extended theological debate should be moved to a different thread, yet God's activity should be able to be a subject on a hurricane thread on this on this pro-God (of the Bible) forum, since he does control them. It is liberals and atheist types who want to keep Him just in the church, at best.

We’re still aiming for Atlanta... and managed to get a room for tonight at one place and 4 more at another... assuming out plane gets out of here this afternoon... keeping fingers crosses, as that’s the last option other than hunkering down.

Yesterday I heard Pigeon Forge was filled up. Maybe Sevierville, Gatlinburg, and Townsend also. I bet all of Knoxville area is filling up fast.
Could be better to try other places not so well-known by tourists. Prayers for Irma folks...and Harvey also!

Dayton Tn, Cleveland Tn or Soddy-Daisy, Tn are options. All have hotels and motels.
They’re all northeasterly of Chattanooga and can be accessed by State Highway 27 either from the north or the south.
Don’t know, but maybe Cookeville back towards Nashville might be better? Or even Murfreesboro?

Our friends in South Venice, FL just got the mandatory evac order - looks like they are now in a Storm Surge *Warning* area (was just SS *Watch* last night). They're going to a hotel somewhere inland, and plan to stay off I-75.
