If climate change is a given, whats the best place to live? Or, maybe, the least-worst?
Its not an easy question. Just asking it feels somehow simultaneously obvious and alarmist.
Theres no place to hide from global warming, by definition. And until recently climate change wasnt supposed to be a given.
If you were on the right, it wasnt supposed to exist. If you were on the left, it was supposed to be something humanity could put the brakes on. If you were in the middle, it was one of those things to worry about later, like your 401(k) or North Korea.
So where to outrun the coming catastrophe? And is it possible for a Californian to outrun it and still be in California? Titley, who has lived in Monterey and San Diego, but now lives in climate resilient Pennsylvania, was one of several climate scientists who generously shared their perspectives with me.
The good news is, California knows how to do this, Frances C. Moore, an assistant professor of environmental economics at UC Davis told me. The whole state is already engineered, and rich enough to double down, if needed.
As relatively wealthy places, the United States and California are in a better position to manage the adverse consequences of climate change, Moore reminded. Californias grid is set up to supply air conditioning to hot places. Infrastructure is a core competency in this state. And, most crucially, policymakers get its importance.
We know we have a problem, and we know that we can reduce greenhouse gases that are a primary driver, Moore said.

Is beech a good wood to use for building a house?
Beech is not good for much of anything
I can assure you, we do not want them. Aside from a small portion of Warren Buffet's zip code where the majority of the enlightened liberals inhabit a neighborhood of high density coffee shops and tofu restaurants, they would not be welcome here.
It was the plainest least California-like place I could think of......................pun intended.............
The nuts taste good...................
Venezuela, with the rest of their kind
It sure is, alongside Oklahoma. We’re bookended by potheads in Colorado and the Sodomites in Iowa. At least the Dakotas to our north and Kansas to our south are somewhat “normal”.
Sodomites in Iowa?
That’s a new one on me......................
“The Midwest breadbasket is a good place to consider since the climate has been very good for growing food. In fact, new record yields have been established for corn, wheat, and soybeans. Sometimes, climate change is good, very good.”
California is the nation’s number one agriculture state.
For Kalifornistan liberals ... about 500 miles west
If that was true, who would pay $50 million for a home on the beach?
Oh yeah, Des Moines is chock full of them. Same with Ames, Iowa City (college towns), and Cedar Rapids. The editors of the Des Moines newspaper led the charge for Sodomite marriage. Many good folks still remain in Iowa, but for a midwestern state, they’ve got way more than their fair share of liberals.
That just blows my...........mind.......................
No other state in the country has air conditioning. /s
Hmmm, maybe they should expand it to the hot place many of them will inhabit someday.
to the writer: the climate has always been changing and there is nothing that we can really do about it. So, suck it up buttercup.
True. They have a large land mass. Based on agricultural output per square mile, Iowa far surpasses CA. In fact, Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, and Kansas all beat out CA and Texas.

I hate to admit it but he is somewhat right Red. But, we must also keep in mind, the press distorts the truth and sells the impression that the majority of Iowans support the pervert alliance. Old media Press reporters and editors have become a hateful lot of anti-American Sodom supporters.
