Two professors claim to have discovered a new form of politically incorrect offense called invisibility microaggressions, which are said to be even more subtle than regular microaggressions. Their proposed solution for these offenses is to get rid of meritocracy.
In social justice jargon, a microaggression is when someone say a white person asks an Asian person where theyre from. While the question isnt offensive in and of itself, the act of asking a person who may get the same question repeatedly throughout the week can be annoying and therefore offensive.
Campus Reform reported on Thursday that a recent study by two professors, Jasmine Mena, who teaches psychology at Bucknell University, and Annemarie Vaccaro of the University of Rhode Island, claim that they are the first academics to discover that invisibility is a form of microaggressions not previously described in feminist academia.

...the professors claim that the environment-based invisibility microaggressions occur when they are among the few, or only non-whites in a workplace or communal context.
Meanwhile, interpersonal invisibility microaggressions are said to hinder non-white people in everyday work roles because their ethnicity or gender is being ignored or because they dont see other non-white people there.
The participants reported campus invisibility, where non-white faculty members say they experienced invisibility for being one of the few non-white faculty members on campus.
Unlike regular microaggressions, which require at least two parties for them to occur, invisibility microaggressions only needs for one person to feel invisible in an environment. A lone black person among a sea of white faces could qualify as one of these invisibility microaggressions especially if he or she isnt singled out for being black. But if that happens, then it can possibly be a macroaggression.

Globally, white people are a small minority. OK, now what, professors?

Wow. Wow wow wow. Who aggressed, and will you try to lock me up for not having aggressed?
Same here; I guess if I am ever accused by a liberal of committing a microaggression against them I will just have to say,
“let me clarify my statement—YOU ARE A F#CKING IDIOT”.
I don't think it has changed much...if you couldn't get into URI, there was always Keene State. :)
If you are in the genetic group labeled Privileged Oppressors, your existence is a aggressive act against everyone else.
One now deceased faculty member was the 30s/40s actress Kate Linaker. She did a live interview on a drive time show a couple of years before she died.
She'd be in big trouble now for appearing in four "Charlie Chan" films with white actors playing Charlie Chan, and as a screen writer on the original "The Blob" that came up with freezing the blob with CO2 fire extinguishers, adding all the CO2 to cause AGW.
Two professors claim to have discovered they can get paid for doing zero work and the media will make them famous!
I’m trying to imagine, being so damn lazy and bored like these professors, who sit around and think of new different ways they feel offended.
This is sick s**t folks.
I believe Keene is where the *Free State Project* went to die. ;)
Open carry and open breasts. HEEHAH!
‘Jasmine Mena and Annemarie Vaccaro...’
anyone else not the least bit surprised that perpetrators of this nonsense are female...?
“anyone else not the least bit surprised that perpetrators of this nonsense are female...?”
Well the NAMES are female but who knows what they are these days.
.
Invisibility microaggressions? Hell, that’s nothing! I’ve discovered QUANTUMLY ENTANGLED MICROAGGRESSIONS. That’s where the microaggressions are committed in a separate location but are SIMULTANEOUSLY felt by the aggrieved victim locally.
Space alien microaggression. They have privilege in their UFO’s.
Just wait until the yoctoaggressions...

Since when is annoyance aggressive (other than the idiots calling me, who never has paid for a college/university class about repaying MY student loans, or paying off my credit cards, or the fact that my paid for Ford truck is no longer under manufacturers warranty, etc.).
I had an inverse version of this twenty years ago. I was a Quark/Photoshop/Illustrator nerd at a think-tank where they were doing finite element analysis of defensive structures at various distances from one-megaton nuclear explosions.
Everybody there had PhDs in math. In the lunch room I yakked baseball each day with one of the guys, and then one day he said, “Where do you think I’m from?” He was dark-skinned, but not Negroid. The bone structure of his face was unusual. I had no idea where he could be from, but I knew that India is proud to be the home of ethereal mathematicians, so I guessed India.
He grew enraged. He was insulted to be called Indian. How could I possibly think he was a stupid rotten Indian. He was from Malaysia, he said. He never spoke to me again.
Don’t ever join the military, “where’ya from?” is the first question the FNG gets asked... then come the jokes about steers and queers... etc...
