It was Bannon’s idea for Paul Ryan and McConnell to pass a better DACA into law?

It looks to me like Trump wants to claim DACA for his own. He is not ending it at all.

No. It was Bannon's idea to put this mess in front of Congress at a time when they would rather suck on a janitor's mop than cast a vote on it.

Congress has been painted into a corner here. You're already seeing some signs of alarm among GOP House members in deep "red" districts, warning Ryan to steer clear of it. Rep. Steve King of Iowa has correctly pointed out that the GOP will face -- and deservedly so -- an insurrection among their voters next year if they manage to legislate a "DACA fix" that deals with 800,000 illegal aliens ... after failing to deliver on any meaningful legislation to help tens of millions of U.S. citizens.

Nationalism: http://www.dictionary.com/browse/nationalism

When a person looks these up, they’ll find that this is a person or group who support policies that take their desired nation’s best interests at heart.

This would be a patriot or a citizen who is loyal to and strongly supports his nation, loves his nation.

While this nation does think of itself first, it is not intent on hurting other nations or avoiding agreements with other nations that don’t affect it negatively.

It helps out other nations and their citizens all the time.

It is however a nation that avoids signing on to agreements that would affect it negatively.

Can someone tell me how this is a bad thing?

It just irritates the Left without limits, that the United States would take the same action any normal person or family would to protect themselves.

But that is what Trump is calling for them to do.

He has already said that if they don't he will rescind his delayed DACA repeal order.(which makes the whole thing pointless)

Trump is baiting them. He knows damn well that it would be politically suicidal for them to legislate a DACA "fix" after failing to make any progress on the rest of his agenda.

He has already said that if they don't he will rescind his delayed DACA repeal order.(which makes the whole thing pointless).

He has said no such thing.

by telling the party he is leading that they need to pass a bill to destroy America? That is insane. If its political suicide then why is he putting his own name on it? He would be the FIRST to blame for it.

If they ignore him on this it will end just like his empy threat to shutdown the FY18 budget over the Wall funding, and eliminated 22 agencies, and to NK on decimation if they threaten us....which they did right away ....and he was going to sue Ted Cruz....

I'm disappointed in Trump on this one. DACA is blatantly unconstitutional and should've been ended on Jan. 21. Extending it gives it legitimacy that it does not deserve.

If Republicans play their cards right though against the Democrats, they would get funding for the wall and real tax reform before legitimizing DACA (fat chance).

They'll probably not fund the wall, not do any real tax reform, then grant amnesty to all DACA people, and maybe grant amnesty to all illegals.

According to Huff Post: Here’s this guy called Bannon who is a well known extremist, kook, and malcontent who advocates for and believes in the wisdom and virtue of the common man and even though he no longer works in the White House, he is still calling the shots there, while Trump walks around confused and muttering to himself

“It looks to me like Trump wants to claim DACA for his own. He is not ending it at all.”

That’s what I think. He’s just going to have it solidified and legitimized via legislation. I think Ivanka eventually wins this DACA issue.

Right -- like he backed down on the Paris accords?

Best idea ... See what happens over the next six months and then look back on these threads to see how silly all of this pearl-clutching is.

I can accept a properly-legislated version of DACA as long as we get most of what we want as part of the deal: funding for the wall 100%, no amnesty for anyone convicted of anything, no amnesty for anyone that has been a leech on the taxpayers since they arrived, limits not he amount of future immigration etc.

My guess is we can whittle down that 800K dreamers to about 350-400K, and if they truly are/have become productive tax-paying citizens, perhaps congress can give them a path to citizenship and show the rest the door *immediately*.

Democrats will never go for it.

I don’t care if it was binding or not. FreeRepublic was filled with pearl-clutchers who insisted he’d never withdraw from it.
