Top congressional Democrats said after a closed-door meeting at the White House on Wednesday that President Trump has agreed to fund the government and raise the debt ceiling through December 15 despite a statement from Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) earlier in the day calling the idea "ridiculous."
"In the meeting, the President and Congressional leadership agreed to pass aid for Harvey, an extension of the debt limit, and a continuing resolution both to December 15, all together," Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said in a joint statement.
The announcement comes after Pelosi, Schumer, Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) met with Trump at the White House to discuss the fall agenda.
The deal, if it clears Congress, would set up a end-of-the-year cliff on both funding the government and the debt ceiling.

That's the way it has to be...Trump didn't go to Washington to be led by the Republican Congressional leadership...He's not there to work with them...If they won't work with him, he'll work with those who will...
A new healthcare plan is dead as far as the Republicans are concerned...Republicans are independent...They will not stick together for a cause...Every one of them will live or die by his/her agenda...
Democrats are united...They will band and vote together as a group...Getting something done tho maybe not ideal is better than getting nothing done in many cases...
So what's better, follow the Republicans and get no wall like we did with healthcare or work with the Dems and give up a few things but actually get the wall???
I wonder how many freepers would flat out switch to D if the President did.
Are you on crack?
You just don’t understand 18-dimensional chess.
Post #26 is seriously delusional too
This below about sums it up but I am not going to post it here as I am not looking for fights.
So, when Trump chooses to side with the liberals, you would expect outrage, right? Well, only if you havent been paying attention to where this is going.
See, this isnt Trump caving in to the Democrats. No no no. This is Trump sticking it to the Establishment, you guys. Thats all. He got Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell real good, you see? The Trump fanatics, Trump cultists, or whatever you want to call them, have moved the goalposts. This is no longer about the Democrats. Its about The Establishment
The Democrats Got What They Wanted, But Its Cool Because Trump Really Stuck It To Paul Ryan ( September 7, 2017 by Joe Cunningham)
Actually change their party registration? Or vote for a Democratic senator/representative?
Probably less than 10 percent.
Who here will cheer amnesty, expansion of Medicaid, massive Infrastructure spending, a tax increase on the upper bracket, and Ivanka’s family leave policy?
60 maybe?
If Trump does it, it’s conservative. That seems to be the new stance.
For the first time since the Cleveland administration? That would be a mean trick.
