President Trump called on Congress to legalize DACA late Tuesday, just hours after his administration announced the repeal of the amnesty for children brought to the country illegally promising that he will revisit this issue if Congress does not turn DACA into legislation.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced the repeal of the Obama era executive order known as the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program both on constitutional grounds and also on principle.
The effect of this unilateral executive amnesty, among other things, contributed to a surge of unaccompanied minors on the southern border that yielded terrible humanitarian consequences, Sessions said. It also denied jobs to hundreds of thousands of Americans by allowing those same jobs to go to illegal aliens.
The move saw significant opposition from Democrats and voices in the media, while even some Republicans who formerly opposed DACA called for Congress to act to resolve the issue with legislation.
The rollback includes a six-month delay so as to allow Congress to act if it so chose. The White House had expressed hope that the issue could be included as part of a broader immigration legislation package, with Trump tweeting that he hoped to work with Democrats and Republicans for a reform that puts hardworking citizens of our country 1st.
But by late Tuesday, Trump appeared to have turned into a paper tiger on the key campaign promise to get rid of DACA, saying he would revisit this issue if Congress did not legalize DACA.

“The New York Times reported Tuesday that administration officials privately raised concerns as late as one hour before the announcement about Trump’s understanding of the effects of rescinding DACA.
Officials worried that when Trump realized the full details of the decision on DACA, he might change his mind, according to the report.”
I’m not concerned about the Dreamers that are here. Important to me is that there will be no more. Also the anchor baby thing has got to go.
60 million of us voted for a crack down on the illegals. If the Republicans in Congress vote to continue DACA, they will lose badly.
It is difficult to hold these people responsible for the actions of their parents.
Words have meaning, especially when they come from a President.
No one knows what Trumps motivation was in his revisit tweet. I can
only say, as a strong Trump supporter from the get go, he seemed
to muck up what was an excellent policy decision.
And was unnecessary. Trump does not have to motovate the GOP
to do nothing by this doing this tweet, as u seem to believe was his
motivation
The American people, including Trump supporters like myself
are quite capable of putting pressure on the Swamp Rats in DC
NOT to pass amnesty.
The tweet was unnecessary.
What the hell is he doing?
Another broken promise. No wonder the political pros, who will keep a bargain, don’t believe in The Donald.
“Ultimately, Trump left many questions unanswered. Among them: what happens in March if Congress hasn’t passed legislation to clarify the status of the young immigrants?
The president’s Tuesday night tweet appeared to leave open the possibility that he could follow Obama’s lead and use his executive power to continue protecting the Dreamers from deportation.
But in another indication of the president trying to have it both ways, the guidance the White House sent to members of Congress included an ominous warning.
‘The Department of Homeland Security urges DACA recipients to use the time remaining on their work authorizations to prepare for and arrange their departure from the United States,’ the guidance read.

See that stand of trees over there? It is called a forest. Please let us know if that is too friggin complicated for you and we will modify our comments on the basis for a kindergartner.
If that was not direct enough, yes, that was a flame. So, if I am out of bounds, Jim can kick me off.
I am confused: On June 22, 2016, the United States Supreme Court affirmed the decision of the United States Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit, dated November 25, 2015, upholding a preliminary injunction blocking the enforcement of DACA. To the best of my knowledge, the preliminary injunction is still in place. That being the case, the left and GOPe are all wee-weed up because Trump announced that he is ending a “program” that he is powerless to implement even if he wanted to, due the preliminary injunction. What am I missing?
I think you're going to be disappointed. Dreamers will stay and Trump will sign it. Not saying that I approve; I don't. But that's how it's going to be.
Our govt subsidizes them, and Central American govt's make sure they collect (and get their cut).
Its time the US govt look after the interests of American citizens.
LOLOL!
I think it was a veiled attempt to get Congress to act and make DACA legal. Unfortunately, the way it was messaged makes everyone think that he is ultimately responsible for making DACA legal. It is quite evident that he is sorely missing Steve Bannon right about now.
Congress now has 6 months to legalize DACA (something the Obama Administration was unable to do). If they can't, I will revisit this issue!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 6, 2017
I look forward to working w/ D's + R's in Congress to address immigration reform in a way that puts hardworking citizens of our country 1st.— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 5, 2017

Exactly!!
I love this President, but this is talking out of both sides of his mouth. NO NO NO AMNESTY!!
Trump didn’t cave. That’s your speculative opinion and it’s wrong.
According to the govt of Mexico, illegals on US soil are, in fact, Mexican citizens, encouraged by Mexico to ride the US gravy train. The billions in remittance Mexicans collect here (under multiple identities) are sent back to the federales has a lot to do w/ that.
==============================================
AFFIDAVIT BY THE GOVERNMENT OF MEXICO
IN A SWORN AFFIDAVIT TO A TEXAS COURT, MEXICO SWORE
THAT MEXICANS ON US SOIL ARE MEXICAN CITIZENS.
A sworn affidavit by Mexico's Consul General to a Texas court asserts that Mexico/s official govt policy is to encourage its poor people to migrate here illegally in order to access our generous welfare system
The Mexican consul's sworn testimony asserts: "My responsibilities in this position include protecting the rights and promoting the interests of my fellow Mexican nationals, and, that the main responsibility of consulates is to provide services, assistance, and protection to Mexican nationals abroad."
A footnote states that Mexican nationality is granted to children born abroad of a Mexican born parent. IOW, anchor babies born in the US retain parents Mexican nationality.
==========================================
Ergo, illegals have two governments looking after their interests.....our govt subsidizing them, and the Mexican govt making sure they collect.
Its time the US govt look after the interests of American citizens.
WTF does “I will revisit this issue!” mean?
