US should rebuke Cuba/deny aid as Hurricane Irma slams into Island
[BBC has background article] | 6-Sept=2017 | Vanity

Article this is based on:

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-41133855 US reveals details of recent 'sonic attack' on Cuba diplomats

It is just my opinion, but the US should use Hurricane Irma as the 'timing' to rebuke Cuba for SONIC attacks on US Embassy employees. Maybe there should an ICING in relations.

If a Communist/Totalitarian Government such as Cuba chooses to attack American Citizens/Embassy workers, there should consequences.

With Hurricane Harvey recovery efforts and what will probably happen with Hurricane Irma striking Florida, US resources will be stretched thin.

The US SHOULD help Mexico with Tropical Storm Katia. Mexico may need aid from the US with efforts there.

Basically, if someone attacks and maims members of your family and then DEMANDS money, they should be denied help.

I do sympathize with the people of Cuba, but they need to get rid of their corrupt Communist Government.

This might sound cruel, but people losing their hearing because of attacks by the Cuban Government on US Embassy employees is UNACCEPTABLE.

Thank God we have a president is not afraid to act.

I imagine Senator McCain and Senator Chuckie Cheeze Schumer will demand we give Cuba billions of dollars for recovery.

No doubt.. this author is whacko. We have de factor paid Mexico billions since the 80s. Not just no. Cuba?
Please explain to me again why us taxpayers are sending money to another sovereign nation. Did they send us money for Harvey?
I’m all for private donations, but taxpayer dollars, no.
Pay them back for attacking our diplomats in kind.. not by withholding money we should have never sent in the first place.

It was Vladimir Lenin, who said one man with a gun can control 100 without.

Why not help the real people of Cuba? Even if it means giving them guns so they can overthrow the commies!

They are in our hemisphere. Their people are not responsible for the a-holes in charge.

And don’t you think Plywood with “Donated by the people of the USA” printed on the side will hold any sway?

Its easy to hate. It can be kind of hard to do the right thing.

Helping those people in need is the morally proper thing to do.

The US SHOULD help Mexico with Tropical Storm Katia.

The same Mexico that is demanding we not return the "Dreamers" or any other illegal aliens??

The same Mexico that enables illegals from other Latin American countries to come to the US??

I don't think so.

Make them cash all of the lease payments—Cuba has only once, in 1959 due to confusion, cashed a lease payment from the United States government. Guantánamo Bay deserves a visit from Elian.

We need to help them as much as they help us.

The Cuban Regime needs to go one way or another. We invaded Panama which also thought it was perfectly fine to attack Americans.

Mexico has an economy and population similar to that of Russia.

Mexico should take care of Mexico

If you are a Mexican in Houston, this hurricane equates to revenue.

It’s dirty work.

There are more billionaires in Mexico than there are in the US.

As I drive on the street that parallels my bayou I see hundreds of homes with everything ripped out and on the lawn.

Clothes, dressers, chests, bed frames, bedding/mattresses, tables, chairs, insulation, children’s toys, and of course, mountains of ruined drywall.

I oppose the Mexican infestation of my country, but I will gladly welcome their labor at this juncture.

The water was gross. In some places it left a line on the wall. I call it the poop line.

As an aside, my daughter’s school was flooded. Everything on the ground floor was lost. If anyone here prays, please say one for Saint Thomas Episcopal School.

It is also a church, and we had to have Sunday service out on the lawn, which to a high Episcopalian is akin to being a damn dirty hippy, wearing a Che shirt, smoking a doobie, in front of Jesus.

Everything on the ground floor was destroyed. Every single desk and chair had to be removed and is a pile across the street. I don’t know if they will try to save those.

I have to go there after work to help. It is deeply saddening. I guess I am just a pussy, because so many folks have lost much more. I need to tough up.

The U.S. no longer offers aid when Cuba gets hit by hurricanes, and Cuba turned down offers of aid when they were made in the past. So I don’t think this is a likely problem.

Rwanda is a case where Humanitarian aid was supplied. The Dictator/Government used the food as a weapon and starved people to death.

Giving the wrong people resources (or control over it) can lead to catastrophic results.

Communists are not people I trust.

For example, Fidel Castro was supplied with two women/girls a day. It is unclear if these women/girls were willing or not.

I guess one woman/girl was for the morning, the other for the evening.

I am not against Red Cross, Catholic Relief Services, etc., helping, but not resources that will be needed not for Florida but:

Puerto Rico (US Territory), US Virgin Islands (US Territory).

Then comes, as a priority: British Virgin Islands, Haiti, Dominican Republic and other Island nations such as Barbados that are going to get slammed hard by the most powerful hurricane on record in the Atlantic.

H. Harvey had a barometric pressure of 967 at one point. Let Russia help Cuba, unless we can guarantee the right people get help.

There is more than one case in the last 20 years where humanitarian food has been used as a weapon, and people were starved to make a political point.
