The Trump administration on Tuesday announced the orderly wind down of the Obama-era program that gave a deportation reprieve to illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as children putting pressure on Congress to come up with a replacement.
I do not favor punishing children, most of whom are now adults, for the actions of their parents. But we must also recognize that we are a nation of opportunity because we are a nation of laws, President Trump said, in a lengthy written statement explaining the decision.
The Department of Homeland Security formally rescinded the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, known as DACA, with a six-month delay for current recipients. According to Acting Homeland Security Secretary Elaine Duke, the interval is meant to give Congress time to deliver on appropriate legislative solutions.

Thanks for this excellent summary of the history of this bs.
The original so called DREAM Act was by Orrin Hatch and Dick Durbin...
DREAM stands for Development, Relief, Education for Alien Minors
the Gang of 8 and their cronies tried several times every year until 2013 to get it passed...
they settled for daca in 2012..
Durbin and Graham were pushing the 2017 version today..
I agree. End it now. They are breaking US law. Let a US citizen break the law and watch how fast they are jailed or fined. Sure as hell is hot, they won’t give them 6 months to fix it.
We get no seed money. My ancestors have been supporting education for more than a century with their tax dollars. Me too. Rest assured the parents of DACA haven’t contributed anything other than breaking our laws.
DACA is DemoCACA! How about TACO: Trump’s Action for Child Outsiders?
A smarter man would have ended it 8 months ago, or let the court do it 3 weeks from now. This move just says Donald Trump isn’t going to keep his campaign promise and end it at all.
He wants congress to make it permanent, and 6 months from now should that not happen he will probably just dely it for anther 6 months.
This was a worthless announcement in defacto support of the measure.
Yeah tell that to Flake and McAmnesty and now the GangRape of America when they get back together.
AND dont't shoot the messenger if you cannot handle the message. You need to bow your back, pull your head out of the sand and get some thick skin. Get ready to fight the fight instead of hiding out in Denial...
