North Korea openly threatens EMP attack for the first time, changing the game

BY ANTHONY FUREY, POSTMEDIA NETWORK

The news Sunday morning that North Korea had launched what appeared to be its sixth nuclear test and most powerful one to date is troubling enough.

But a statement from the rogue regime took things to a whole new level. The North said it had tested an H-bomb that was “a multi-functional thermonuclear nuke with great destructive power which can be detonated at high altitudes for super-powerful EMP (electromagnetic pulse) attack according to strategic goals.”

This is the first time it has publicly mentioned its interest and ability in an EMP attack, a devastating weapon that could have catastrophic consequences for North America, the West and their closer neighbours.

An EMP attack, as I detail in my new book Pulse Attack, is a nuclear detonation that occurs in the atmosphere and creates a waveform that can take down the electrical grid below.

In the worst case scenario, this wouldn’t just shut off the power for minutes or hours, but weeks or even months, due to serious damage to transformer stations and other integral elements of our power infrastructure.

This wouldn’t just mean we couldn’t turn on our laptops and televisions; it would shut down our telecommunications, transportation, water systems, our ability to get food to cities and much more.

China is even ostensibly complaining now.

I can well believe that China did not comprehend evil of this depth. Focused evil for a purpose, yes. China showed it in Tibet to further its exploiting of that land for ostensibly good purposes, for example. But this degree of really deep, self adulating evil — mostly no. China now has its self willed monster. Who will shoot the rabid tiger on which it is riding? It must be us.

Frankly I have little empathy left for the people after they watched millions of their people die in the 90’s and didn’t revolt then. They are beyond brainwashed now.... And those in the city have no heart for the rest of their countrymen. Therefore whatever collateral damage occurs, (if any down the road,),...is a very small price for THEM to pay. ...Freedom isn’t free.

Slight nitpick: Revelation.

Now the capability of making something like this happen doesn’t mean the first time the capability is brought out that it will. These passages can serve as averting warnings, not just as fatalistic dooms.

It’s easy to judge till you know what kind of toxic stew they had to endure. Survival became more important than revolt.

Still, the Lord could arrange a deliverance.

I think China is an evil empire. I think it’s inner circle is very wicked.

While I am willing to live in peace with it, its proxies are not so lucky.

Honestly, I think the public is in panic mode.

They fear each other as much as their tyrant leader.

One word from anyone, and your life is over.

Think of one person who drops out of favor with the government. They could easily barter innocents to save their own necks.

It’s a evil place.

I don’t disagree with your idea the capital has lost touch with the rest of the populace.

Well Kim likes to keep them in the panic mode....thus depending on the state....they don’t fear each other as much as they fear ‘getting caught’ by each other and turned over to the state. I will also say they can be ruthless with each other under normal conditions....well their normal anyway.

Kim has had nukes pointed at South Korea for how many years?

Why are you in such a rush to send my kids to war for nothing? The aftermath of a war there would be horrific.

What the hell is wrong with you?

Our whole nation is going to be looking down the barrel of a mad-man with nuclear weapons, and you tie my comment to specifically your kids.

What about everyone else kids?

Oh never-mind them. We must protect your kids. LMAO

I guess adults, children, grandparents just don’t rank anywhere on “your kids” meter.

Kim has not had nukes pointed at South Korea for many years.

He has had convention missiles pointed at them.

Wicked — and yet not as wicked as a land can get. NK has the prize for that. It proudly defends the worst misery. Norkies consider China quite prosperous. No, China is nowhere near as wicked as it gets.

Kim has had nukes pointed at South Korea for how many years?

I read this as:

Kim has had nukes pointed at South Korea for how many years?

I apologize for addressing it that way.

The thing that comes to mind is that North Korea will have those type of nukes pointed at South Korea in short order.

This is something we have to avoid.

I live on the west coast. My area is the most likely place North Korea can reach. I stand to lose too. For the good of the nation, I suggest we do not wait until Kim can hit the whole nation.

When he can, ten weapons could knock out more than half our populace.

I do not wish to wait for that day. I wish to see that day prevented from happening.

NK would be a cake walk compared to the mire of the Middle East.

How did “his kids” even enter the picture?

China is backing North Korea’s play.

It is providing technology and more than likely weapons grade processed Uranium.

Another words, North Korea couldn’t do this without China’s calculated decisions to lead the world to the brink.

China is even worse than North Korea.

China doesn’t grasp how this little defensive move on its part could and apparently will blow back.

It acts in ignorance and unbelief.

Kim Jong-Un knows what it wants to do with the world and that’s to drag it down into misery.

China made it possible yet NK is worlds worse. Who would escape to go where? Point proven.

Don’t you find it odd that North Korea has not threatened the U.S. bases in Okinawa, Japan? The Marines 3rd Division is based there. The Air Force has a large air base. Why would they reach out to Guam?

Guam is US soil, but Okinawa is Japanese. An attack on Guam does not “attack” Japan , but does attack the US nuclear bombers that ARE on Guam at Anderson AFB, and also the US navy base on the other end of the little island. To their minds, and to the anti-Trump US press "corpse" in particular, an attack on Japanese soil is much worse than an attack on US bases that "Trump uses to threaten the innocent North Koreans" ...

China knowing who Kim and his father were, decided to exploit their mental instability, ruthless natures, and lack of morals to use as a tool against it’s enemies.

It could have chosen instead to help North Korea feed it’s people. It took a pass on that.

So no, I’m not buying what you’re selling on the subject.

All China did was prove that it’s leadership is mentally unstable, ruthless, and lacking any morals.

Thus China revealed itself to be even worse than North Korea, turning it into something it couldn’t have been on it’s own.

Sorry you can’t grasp that.
