exas Sen. Ted Cruz said President Donald Trump "speaks in ways that I wouldn't" on North Korea but that it helps to "have a president who is strong."
The Republican senator told ABC News "This Week" co-anchor Martha Raddatz that if North Korea's claim that it successfully tested a hydrogen bomb Sunday is true, it is "a serious escalation in their ability to commit mass acts of murder" that will spur calls for "further serious steps to prevent North Korea from using those weapons."
"North Korea right now, its the most dangerous place on the face of the planet," Cruz said on "This Week" Sunday. "Kim Jong Un, whos the dictator there, he is radical, he is unpredictable, he is extreme, and hes getting more and more dangerous weapons."
Raddatz asked Cruz about Trump's prior warning that the United States would respond with "fire and fury" to any further provocations from North Korea.
"Do you think [the president's threat] hurt or helped?" she asked.
"The president speaks in ways that I wouldn't speak, but that is his prerogative," the Texas senator said. "I do think it helps for North Korea and for China to understand that we have a president who is strong."
"I think the president is right that Kim Jong Un and other bullies only understand and respect strength, that weakness, that appeasement, encourages this action," Cruz said.
He added, "In term of what happens, listen, no rational person wants to see a military conflict with North Korea, with the nuclear weapons ... [In] almost any scenario, you're looking at tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of casualties in a matter of days.'

Shut Up Meg..er umm TED
Cruz would have spoken like 0bama or Hillary.
Thank you Mr Goldman Sachs wife I’m not president moron.
ABC = All Bull & Counterfeit
Always Bogus & Counterfeit
Dont believe these Lying Leftist Media outlets that proved themselves during the 2016 campaign to be operatives of the DNC and intentional liars. They are presumed to be lying and we should presume what they publish is a lie. The presumption can only be rebutted with the outlet providing clear and convincing evidence they are not lying.
Having said that, I would say that if this quote is correct, then it is a great example of why Trump, not Cruz, needed to be President.
Ted, you Canadian weenie... sigh.
This just confirms that 62 + million of us voted for the right man to be our president. The insane suicidal other choice is shown below!
Trump ‘speaks in ways that I wouldn’t’ on North Korea.
Exactly. that’s one of the other reasons I wouldn’t vote for this cubanadian.
This proves we dodged a MAJOR bullet by not nominating Cruz!!
This stuttering weak prick would end up getting us nuked.
We don’t need a number of different experts on this.
When asked a question like this about an issue like this, people should simply state that Kim is a tyrant and a global threat, and that they support whatever the president thinks he needs to do to return the Korean peninsula to a nuclear free zone.
Talk about “I wouldn’t...”, you’re not president and it makes no difference what you would or wouldn’t do.
We’ve spent six administrations waffling on North Korea.
Quit the second guessing you asses.
Ted, this mean you too.
No Republican should talk with Martha Raddatz. Period.
That’s funny. The article was written in such a way to disparage both Trump and Cruz and appear to be a wedge between them. But his remarks were actually supportive and complimentary. The media knows how to work a room and drive wedges against any nonliberal. Works every time, even with Trump’s solid base. The media is trying to suggest that Trump is losing his base - he is not. But if they can make dissension the focus, then their plan is working.
Well, what else would we expect from a cowardly Canadian??
Way to slag off on the President Cruzzie.
Low hanging fruit for the hate Cruz cretins on this board.
“I do think it helps for North Korea and for China to understand that we have a president who is strong.”
Makes the article headline sound Fake.
“Ted Cruz” . . . hmm . . . where have I heard that name before . . .
Actually it looks like the brunette is saying “President Trump.”
He was sponsored by Bush. Same shit different day!
