The guy’s a liar.

I just pulled up the gas buddy map. Almost all the stations in North Dallas and the northern suburbs are out of gas.

So I’ll say it again. He’s a liar. And not a very good one.

Sounds like there is a crisis, just not caused by lack of inventory but by an attempted shift of inventory location.

Unfortunately my fam tactical reserve was disrupted by a physical move and I’m down to a few weeks w/o a trip to refuel for daily travel. Hurricane Season is a time to be drawing down from a full reserve filled with Summer fuel in anticipation of a partial refill with Winter fuel when that stuff is in the station tanks.

Oh well. Let Texas and La. recover soon.

This whole thing will pass over in 4 or 5 days. The problem is a combination of things. Some is panic, some is price going up, and from I saw today in Dallas some is idiots running around in a dither because they had little gas to start the day and were tearing around trying to find it and burning up the little they had. Also it’s a holiday weekend. Any travel of consequence over the short holiday brings with it the worry travelers may have trouble refilling in order to get back home. Uber service apparently was pretty much nonexistent today as well.

They are lying folks. When you pass station after station and they have no gas, you have a shortage. So now they say we should have some by later next week. Meantime we have to walk even though they insist there is NO SHORTAGE.

Perhaps he could make a case to the speculators. Unleaded Gas futures are up about 50c this past week, and gas in Pennsylvania is up 20c in the past two days.

Yesterday, listening to Rush, radio station news said “Colonial Pipeline is shut down. 30% of gas supply is off line to the Southeastern U.S.” My sister called to tell us at 7 AM Sams Club had gas at $2.22.......at 9 AM price was up to $2.55 We are in NC about an hour from the NC/VA line. My husband filled all our gas cans, mowers, vehicles before the hurricane hit Texas. We live out in the country...drive v-8 vehicles....so we knew prices were gonna go up, and peeps were gonna panic. This same mantra is repeated every single time there is a mother nature disaster.

Texas Railroad Commissioner Ryan Sitton said consumers are putting undue demand on fuel and that's making it difficult to resupply gas stations in a timely fashion. He called the problem simply one of demand and logistics.

He's exactly right. Within 2 weeks everything will be back to normal. I talked to a guy at a gas stationb yesterday and he said they had wankers coming in with multiple 5-gal cans to fill up along with their cars. Fortunately, I filled up my car last friday and have driven a whopping 17 miles on the full tank, since I don't have to commute.

For regular commuters though, this panic may adversely affect them.
