100 Greatest Comedies of All Time
BBC ^

this year BBC Culture decided to get serious about comedy. We asked 253 film critics 118 women and 135 men from 52 countries and six continents a simple: What do you think are the 10 best comedies of all time? Films from any country made since cinema was invented were eligible, and BBC Culture did nothing to define in advance what a comedy is; we left that to each of the critics to decide. As always, we urged the experts to go with their heart and pick personal favourites, films that are part of their lives, not just the ones that meet some ideal of greatness.

Pulp Fiction was a comedy? It certainly had comedic moments. The entire scene with Christopher Walken, for one...
And there was some hilarious dialog.

If Porkies isnt on the list then this list had zero credibility,IMO.True! During the scene in the principal's office, where Miss Ballbreaker floats her idea on how to identify the "offender," and the young coach talks about putting out an APB. Even President Eisenhower had a big smile on his face! I laughed so hard, I couldn't catch my breath.

Used Cars should be in the top ten."You killed my dog, mister!"
"Grandpa Munster," Al Lewis was great as the judge.

A New Leaf, a small but very engaging film where Walter Matthau...Walter Matthau was in a lot of terrific comedies. But my favorite was "Hopscotch," where he's a CIA agent, forced out of his job, so he decides to write and publish his memoirs.

Ive never been in a movie house where the audience was bent over laughing. The theater was nuts. 1978. I have been to two movies where the audience lost it due to laughing. Animal House and four years earlier with Blazing Saddles.

I cant believe they left off Running Scared. 1986 with Billy Crystal and Gregory Hines. Ive watched that movie 25 or 30 times.I think my favorite scene is the police line-up!

They didn’t include “Twentieth Century”, one of the funniest movies ever made.

Watched Pulp Fiction 1st time with my wife. I was snickering and laughing out loud during the whole movie. She was shocked about the movie, almost literally, and thought I was nuts.
Watched it again with her a few mo’s later. She “got” it.
