A survey commissioned by Bild newspaper published on Tuesday reveals that the majority of Germans reject the idea of refugees legally reuniting with their families in Germany.
Over 58 percent of interviewees rejected the notion of refugee family reunification whereas around 42 percent supported it, the survey showed.
People granted full asylum have a right to reunite with their close family as stipulated by the Geneva Convention. According to the Bild report, there has been an increase in the number of family reunion visas Germany has issued in recent years. From January 2015 to the end of June 2017, around 230,000 requests for this visa were granted.
Nonetheless, many asylum seekers in Germany are only granted subsidiary protection, a secondary form of asylum which offers fewer rights. Even Syrians are by and large only offered subsidiary protection, unless they can show that they as an individual face persecution in their homeland.

“refugees legally reuniting with their families in Germany”
Means importing the entire country of Syria.
Everyone will be a relative; since there are no records proving otherwise.
>>the majority of Germans reject the idea of refugees legally reuniting with their families in Germany.
Pity that the “majority of Germans” have no say in the matter. Merkel does whatever Soros commands.
Immediately multiply the number there by AT LEAST 2
So, 1 million becomes 2 million, with their ‘wife’ or 3 million with ‘wives’
Then they each have 2 children (at least) so 2 wives times 2 children - 4 million more.
This is probably a minimum.
Bringing their “families” (if that can even be verified) is stage 2 of this “migration”.
The population of Germany is 80 million. once they reach 20% all bets are off. They can control the country with that.
If not for Trump we would be importing several million.
This is like watching a Borg assimilation.
We have the same policies here. It is called chain migration.
Yes, it's sad, that Merkel has such contempt for the German people.
Don’t forget all the “brothers” and “sisters”.
German’s STILL think they’re Government cares how they feel about anything?
Interested in your opinion; is Merkel pretty much guaranteed to win re-election?
Who cares how many Germans oppose refugees reuniting with their families? Most of them will vote for Merkel anyway. And what Merkel wants, Merkel gets.
In contrast, I strongly approve of refugees/immigrants/invaders legally reuniting with their families in their home countries.
I support reuniting them with their families - In the country of their origin.
By all means, reunite them ... back in their country of origin.
Merkel rests at this point (3 weeks away) with 36-to-38 percent of the vote, and the Schulz/SPD trend is between 22-to-25 percent. After that, the Linke Party (former Communists) rests at 9-percent, the FDP at 8-percent, the AfD at 10-percent, and the Greens around 7-percent.
The two debates are still left to go (one comes up Sunday night). It’s basically a debate between a college-professor-turned-political-figure and a EU-Bureaucrat. No one expects any screw-ups. These typical don’t work like the US-crafted episodes with insider questions already passed over and marginal debate people pretending to be political figures.
Because of all the political chat forums on TV....week after week...there is a ‘race-track’ of sorts where you either prove you can debate with the big-boys or you don’t rise to the top of your party.
So the only big question left is the formation of a coalition after the election. At present, people can talk of three options. Merkel really doesn’t want to team up again with the SPD. This leaves the Green Party (probably won’t have enough votes) or the FDP.
There is a possibility of a last minute action occurring and shifting three or four percent of the votes (like a terror operation). But this is pretty rock-solid. You can look up the history of German polls and for at least four decades...they rarely miss the final count by more than 2-percent.
All this said...if you go to the public, the top two topics are the diesel car situation and immigration/asylum. Neither are discussed much in public forums by any of the current parties in the Bundestag. The AfD has a firm opinion against the present asylum program and most of the 10-percent vote for them are simply frustration votes by the public. The Merkel solution is locked on until 2021 (the next election) when the replacement Chancellor finally arrives. At that point, I might expect a different policy to occur.
Thanks, I appreciate your insight.
