Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas has rejected American demands that he stop using foreign financial aid to pay stipends and salaries to the families of jailed Palestinian terrorists.
Abbas met last week with US envoys Jared Kushner and Jason Greenblatt as part of President Donald Trump's efforts to restart Middle East peace talks.
According to Israeli journalists present at the meeting, Kushner, who is Trump's son-in-law, reiterated the long-standing demand that the Palestinian Authority not reward terrorism with financial gain.
Congress has repeatedly threatened to halt all foreign aid to the Palestinian Authority over the payments to jailed terrorists, nearly all of whom are incarcerated in Israel for carrying out attacks on Jewish men, women and children.
The Arabic-language newspaper Al-Quds reported that Abbas' response was to "inform Kushner that he would never stop paying these salaries until his dying day, even if this cost him the presidency."

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas was a Soviet spy in Damascus in the 1980s, Israel’s Channel 1 television reported Wednesday, citing information it said was included in an archive smuggled out of the USSR.
According to Channel 1’s foreign news editor Oren Nahari, the famed Mitrokhin archive, kept by KGB defector Vasily Mitrokhin, revealed that Abbas was a Soviet mole in Damascus in 1983.
The documents — obtained by Israeli researchers Isabella Ginor and Gideon Remez — purportedly show that Abbas, code-named Krotov (mole), was involved with the Soviets while Mikhail Bogdanov, today Vladimir Putin’s envoy to the Middle East. was stationed in Damascus.
Bogdanov was caught in a diplomatic tussle earlier this week after trying to broker a summit between Abbas and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Moscow, who both claimed a willingness to meet while decrying the other for allegedly refusing. ..."

Abbas is coming up front with the truth because he’s betting that the Americans will fuss, frown and fidget, then give him the money anyway, so to ‘keep the doors open’.
I hope he has bet wrong, but we will wait and see.
And Planned Parenthood won’t use any taxpayer money for abortions.

There are no Palestinians. They are simply devolved Jordanians.
The war between the Palestinians and Israelis will end when the Palestinians understand they are defeated.
What the West is doing is keeping their hopes alive on a thin string of welfare payments and by preventing their ultimate demise by preventing Israel from finishing them. What this does is keeps their people in poverty and violence, and keeps them killing themselves and Israelis through terrorism.
In sum, you can say the West actually has a very sadistic policy vis-a-vis Israel and Palestinians.
Abbas just like Arafart before him and Abu Shukri before him and Sheikh Al Jamin Al Huseini (the Mufti of Jerusalem) before him all stand for the same genocidal policy at it matters not if the the terror kingpin was dressed in a suit (like Abbas), a military uniform (like Arafart) or a “jalabiya” Arabic dress. The leadership is the same and the goals are the same - KILL, KILL, KILL Jews and if you're lucky, become a martyr. I have never supported giving funds to the Arabs on the West Bank or in Gaza.
When they change their ways, we’ll rethink the issue.
The Arab states should support the Arabs there.
Europe, the U.S., hell no!
Why should we fund terrorists? Why should we fund people who teach their children to hate our ally Israel as well as us?

That war will end when the “palestinians” understand that they are just the $hit that the rest of the ME has been using as a foil ever since the end of WWII to try and derail Israel, that they are a figment of their own imagination, and they need to be repatriated to their various countries of origin. When that is done, and Israel retakes the territory it has “loaned” to the PA back, there is a chance for peace.
