He was a visiting professor so easy to fire. If he is visiting from another university I am sure he still has a job there.

Tenure is only supposed to protect professors from the backlash of unpopular opinions, not sheer stupidity ;-)

The other “professors” covering his classes are more than likely cut from the same cloth so the leftist indoctrination will continue.

He could well be a relatively new PhD and this is his job. A lot of departments, especially in the humanities and social sciences, get by on the cheap by hiring a new PhD for 1-3 years as visiting. They don’t have to commit to a tenure line, which can mean million or more over a lifetime of teaching. Sociology is very competitive - lots of PhDs, not so many jobs. People are lucky to get a visiting gig, other wise they wouldn’t have a job at all.

I was faculty at a Big 10 school. My friends are faculty. Thankfully, we didn’t go into the humanities and have to do visiting gigs.
