Border Patrol agents arrested 30 immigrants suspected of crossing a Southern California border Saturday through an underground tunnel, federal authorities said.
Officers found a crude opening and a ladder inside the tunnel north from the Otay Mesa border entrance shortly after 1 a.m., U.S. Customs and Border Patrol said in a statement.
Authorities took 23 Chinese citizens and seven Mexicans into custody for questioning.

They should have given them “my gopher treatment.” Just flood the tunnel until the “gophers” come out and beat them to death with a shovel.
Shoot them.
Shoot them.
PING
Golly....what’ll they think of next? (smirk)
they are not immigrants- they are ILLEGAL TRESSPASSERS
23 Chinese? No doubt entered Mexico as tourists? Nah, prolly just paid the correct mordida.
Fill it with water, and put sharks in there. Then put a sign to stay out of there, because it is too dangerous.

This drives me up the wall. Why do they keep calling them “immigrants”? It’s like calling shoplifters “shoppers.”
Yes, they most certainly are not immigrants. More likely they are invaders or drug dealers.
Where do we stand on deporting Chinese back to China? Are they taking them or not? Anybody know?
Why the Chinese? Well, someone had to dig the tunnel.
It gets worse. My local street corner drug pusher insists he is just an unregistered pharmacist. And he’s right.
like rats , they are invading
Deport more would-be leeches? Otay!
An underground is much more nefarious than an aboveground tunnel.
That would make a GREAT place to store spent nuclear fuel. Quiet like, so nobody knows about it.
I live about 20 minutes drive from there. Tunnels are a pretty constant occurrence at the border. Several years ago there was a tunnel that ran from a restaurant in Mexico to a mini-mall convenience store in San Diego.
