The Liberals are Coming! The Liberals are Coming!
Redoubt News ^ | August 26, 2017 | Jim Boyer

In areas throughout the American Redoubt people can be heard complaining about new comers from California or other liberal places. While many new comers are moving here to leave the depressing environment of more taxes, crowded roads, sanctuary cities and gender neutral bathrooms to enjoy the freedoms America was founded upon, there are also those that are not.

Those that are not are most likely liberal democrats. Some of them grew uncomfortable in places where the quality of life was degraded by politics they supported. While they may not realize what they helped create, or why they really left, they continue to support democrat candidates out of habit. In so doing, they bring discord to the communities where they move. They can find themselves somewhat isolated in “pretty places” they thought would be fun to live in and may have trouble assimilating with, or relating to seasoned locals.

Others have a deep seated desire to pursue their liberal activist habits and quickly seek out other like minded souls. They organize to influence local governments often bringing about changes that uninvolved long time residents who don’t regularly attend council and board meetings may not notice as they transpire.

This goes on a lot. The mayor of Sterling Heights ran on a boatload of money from outside the city. Wonder who he supports, the citizens or his monied masters?

I’m tired of seeing the term “liberal” applied to the hard core leftists of today. The label might apply to politicians like Hubert Humphrey and Daniel Patrick Monahan, but they are long gone. Joe Lieberman was the last of their ilk and he couldn’t win a democrat primary. Had to run as an independent for senator.

Can’t do much about clueless “journalists” but the term leftist should be used instead of liberal at every opportunity.

Colorado has been overrun with liberals fleeing California. They are starting to ruin Colorado too.

In mixed political company, I call them social democrats as an attempt to be respectful. My experience is that leftists fly off the handle when they are called leftists.

Similarly, I refuse to use the term “capitalism”, even though the word has a positive connotation on the right. The word is a jargon term invented by Marx. I reject the idea that free enterprise constitutes an ideology (i.e., an “ism”). It is a naturally emerging result of free human interaction, not a top-down system imposed by an elite a la socialism.

IMHO, "capitalism" is the natural order of human interaction, at least in the absence of leftists/statists/liberals/etc.

Every other economic system must be imposed by force.

I remember during the '50s when the claim was made that the Reds were taking over the unions. "Come early, stay late." was their motto. These people are probably using the same tactic - wait for people to get tired/bored and leave, THEN make their play.

I talked with a woman from Pahrump, NV who said that at one of the city council meetings someone got up and demanded more street lights in their rural neighborhood "just like we had in California". One councilman (Bless him) said "You're not in California now." Most of those in attendance gave a thunderous applause and the matter was dropped. I suspect - Only For Now.

While in Nevada, the local paper had an article on gun control and I answered in support of gun rights. A few days later, wife went to a jeweler and when he heard the last name, he asked if she was married to the guy that wrote that letter. (She gets that fairly often :-) )

She said "yes" and the guy said he agreed with me, but couldn't openly say so or he'd lose a good bit of his clientele "because they came from California".

The response to ‘he’d lose a good bit of his clientele’ is: They weren’t your clientele before they moved here & you might not have any business at all if they get their way. Stand up for your rights!

Liberals and leftists are like a plague of locusts. Once they finish stripping one area of any worth that it might have had, they move on to new feeding grounds. The world would be better off without them.

At some point the pendulum need to swing back to where it was when the truth tellers were the ones that spoke out and the evil hearts held their tongues.
