Amazons $13.7 billion purchase of Whole Foods Market will be finalized Monday, and shoppers will see an immediate markdown in prices on a number of items, including salmon, avocados, baby kale and almond butter.

Amazon Whole Foods vs Walmart SuperCenters.

Yep things are changing for sure. Don’t forget
the Google Express and Walmart combine.
There are Trader Joe’s and Sprouts here that are excellent — I’ll most likely never set foot in Whole Foods.
They’ll still be overpriced and infested with progressives.
“Whole Foods will become a very important tax write-off for Amazon as Amazon doesnt really care about Whole Foods.”
I don’t think Amazon makes a profit for tax purposes. I don’t think they pay federal taxes.
Amazon will pay almost 14 billion, roughly 27 percent premium to the stock price. John Mackey, Whole Foods outspoken co-founder, will continue to run the business.
That is a huge investment. If Whole Foods loses money, which is very likely if they substantially lower prices, the loses will get very big.
Amazon is starting to feel pressure from Wal-Mart and local grocery chains (H-E-B in Texas, Meijer in Michigan) who are firing up grocery services where you can drive up and have someone load your groceries into your car.
Walmart and grocery stores have brick and mortar locations in neighborhoods across the fruited plain. I suspect Amazon wants a larger brick and mortar presence, and access to their supply chains so as to push back at the competition.
“....including salmon, avocados, baby kale and almond butter”
GREAT!!!
/s
Beer when you can have a baby kale smoothie?????
Before my dad retired he was a Whole Foods vendor.
Dad sold them all of the Whole Food branded bread,(Baked by Country Kitchen by the way) Eng muffins, flat bread, cookies, some crappy super expensive tomato sauce, etc.. to a bunch of stores in MA.
I helped him out a lot of times, all that bread is HEAVY.
Every visit to WF was like a freak show at the local traveling circus.
the prices were outrageous and i will NEVER step in another one again.
Tool Crib of the North usually had the lowest prices around until Amazon purchased them, and then their prices jumped about ten percent.
I go to one Whole Foids in October because they carry Holiday grapes
Amazon has “Amazon Fresh” service in some areas. They deliver to your door on buyers schedule.
I’m really leery of any on-line food delivery service. Like to see, feel, and smell fruit, veggies, meat, and fish for freshness and quality.
Frozen meat and seafood in opaque packages are off my list regardless who sells them. Too many times I’ve gotten things that had defrosted and been re-frozen, just plain rotten. And from supposedly respectable big chain stores.

When visiting Austin Texas, the Whole Foods store there reminds me of Berkeley California. Austin has bizarre libs there and they congregate at Whole Foods. And it's overpriced.
Who cares,it’s not my 13.7 Billion, but I think Whole Foods will never be the same. I can’t believe that was the only place where I shopped when I was younger! I don’t like snotty shoppers and overpriced food anyway. I am cheap,I go to Aldi.
Now if they could just get rid of the New Age, granola eating, Liberal, smug old Hippies...it would be great.
“Amazon Whole Foods vs Walmart SuperCenters.”
There’s an enormous cost...and quality difference in those two establishments.
And you can bet Bezos will leverage the Amazon logistics network to give Walmart a serious scare on price.
Ultimately, both companies are logistics companies with a customer service front end. And logistics are all about computers, networks and software.
Advantage Amazon. They have that 100X over Walmart. Half the friggin’ internet goes into and out of Amazon. They are also the largest cloud hosting company in the world.
It appears only government force can stop them from becoming the only retail company in the world.
Liberals love owning their own propaganda outlets.
Works well on the sheeple.

I’m sure someone was “tasked” with writing this “news”.
Gotta make it appear coincidental. Like a “botched robbery”.
Ha. We have Trader Joe’s. F*** Whole Foods.
