Amen
Did I mention that the person who posted the original comment to which you responded has since agreed that this is a potentially devastating storm? Buh bye.

Oh, chill out.
I never said it wasn’t a potentially devastating storm EITHER. All I said is people don’t take these things seriously because the media cries wolf every time there’s a friggin’ drop of rain somewhere.
Try reading what someone says before you whine about it.
Weather Underground has become almost useless these days.
Go spread your generic angst on another thread. We have more important things to discuss here. I’m guessing you live in or around Michigan. Landlocked residents have a reputation for popping in here with snarky, non-productive garbage.
Agree—WU is not worth the $5/year for no-ads.

Thank you for that NN. The snark on these threads just makes me SMH. I’m on the west side of Houston—we are taking this quite seriously. The greater Houston MSA is a bit larger than the size of Rhode Island, just to give some perspective. The affected area of this storm looks to be larger than the Boswash corridor, admittedly without the population densities.
Holy crap... that looks bad.
Be safe.
Same here. Are you staying, or evacuating?
Stay safe.
Joe Bastardi’s daily forecast is out... interesting, to say the least.

Freepers are survivors. Board em up and move out. Stuff can be replaced, your lives cannot. Keep safe Bros and sisters.

You sure about that?

Take good care, and keep us updated when you are able.
Hoping all that should evacuate, do.
Prayers up for all that are hunkering down to ride it out.

Oh, I’m sorry... did I miss the part where I can only post pre-approved thoughts here? Guess so.
And I don’t live anywhere near Michigan. You can try one of the other 49 states, but, really, you should stick to posting about the upcoming storm.
it may not stop raining in the houston metro for four days almost nonstop starting now
like I said before the onshore flow will back water drainage
first heavy bands now moving in
also they will be in the right side with isolated tornadoes
still can’t believe the stall of a rather large major hurricane
Dirtboy,
Dallas? Prayers UP !!!
NautiNurse,
Thanks for the thread, and my thoughts & prayers are going up for everyone in the path of this storm.
I just sold my house in Willis, in March - good timing on my part!
I bought it just BEFORE Ike, which took out parts of my fence and some neighbors had some really bad damage. We had no power in my area for almost two weeks.
Prayers for all of you in it’s path!!
Meteorologist general consensus thus far:
Harvey will hit Victoria back up and rake the entire coastline towards the N.E. from there and die out in the Ozarks.
I’m para-phrasing Brad Barton of WBAP 820. Looks like 4-5 days of bad weather.
