Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says there is zero chance Congress will allow the country to default on its debts by voting to not increase the borrowing limit.
McConnells comments came Monday during a joint appearance in his home state of Kentucky with U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin. It was one of McConnells first public appearances since President Donald Trump publicly criticized him for failing to pass a repeal and replacement of former President Barack Obamas health care law.
McConnell did not mention Trump in his remarks, and he did not take questions from reporters after the event. But in response to a question about where he gets his news, McConnell said he reads a variety of sources, including The New York Times.

Any measure raising the debt ceiling without repealing Obamacare should be vetoed by President Trump.
How about doing you job passing a Budget first
So you’re telling me that the only way America can pay its debts is to incur more of them? That makes NO sense.
I forget, Is McConnell the Minority Leader in the Senate or the Majority Leader in the Senate?
This dumbass knows debt comes first right?
we went through this the last time.
Wonder what mnuchin was whispering in his ear
Majority...
Sadly he thinks he’s a Democrat.
For once we agree on something.
Well, the GOPe sure has.
SMH!
Onward Cloward-Piven!
These people running our governments are completely insane or complicit or both. There really is no other explanation.

The following ‘parable’ needs wide dissemination. Even the ‘dummies’ should be able to figure it out.
Person comes home from work to find sewer broke and his basement had raw sewage above the baseboard and rising.
Does he
A. Get to work fixing and stopping the leak, clean his basement and go about his business.
OR
B. Go get some floor/ceiling jacks and raise the floor (ceiling) on the next story so more sewage can easily fit into his basement.
I guess one could call ‘Plan B’ a form of ‘raising the debt ceiling’.
Here we go again....
That’s because the corrupt bastard knows it will be a CR only. The Republican Congress will keep the trajectory of the last 16 years.
And there will be no new budget.
Because Republicans are corrupt and stupid. And unworthy of the office they hold.
This guy reminds me of an old vaudeville hack that needs to be yanked off the stage.
To push the agenda they push does require both.
McConnell is despicable.

What? I thought you and I agreed on everything. LOL #:^)
“McConnell did not mention Trump in his remarks, and he did not take questions from reporters after the event”
He got his ass burned the last time he mouthed off.
Of course, once again, the false choice of default versus debt ceiling increase is presented. Of course, Congress could pass a skinnier budget or prioritize various types of spending, but that would make too much sense for DC.
Then give Trump what he wants just like you did Obama.
