Are you and Texas Rose related by any chance? ;)
DITTO
Yea, I’m okay with them protecting American interests you fool. Not protecting opium fields and country building to put money in globalist pockets.
Some of the “conservatives” here might as well just call themselves neo-conservatives(read:globalist).
Trolls?
Are you serious?
I’m concerned why Trump didn’t announce full withdrawal, that’s the only thing we should be doing except for burning poppy fields. Which won’t be happening.
16 years in that hell hole. Countless American lives lost for what?
These aren’t emotional responses.
These are clear thought out concerns!
Withdrawal was a campaign promise, are you blind?
There is absolutely zero logical or rational reason that we need boots on the ground there much less 4,000. We can see the pubic hair of a guy on the ground in Afghanistan from orbit and drop a bomb on him within minutes. We could carpet bomb the whole country until nothing is left alive, if terrorism is such a problem there then do that. Guarantee terrorism will be less of a problem afterwards.
You’re the moron. We don’t need to be there. Period. We don’t even need to be there to burn the poppy fields. Do it remotely using bombs, drones, and satellites. Why in the HELL do Americans need to die in another third world hell hole? WHY?
There you go again ... You seem to have a problem differentiating Obama’s “presidency” from Trump’s. But, I forgot - you’re prescient about all matters concerning President Trump’s motives and plans.
You also appear to have a rather large bug up your ass as to the fate of opium fields. In fact, so much so that I must wonder whether there exist a deeper personal motive for your persistent rant on this subject?
How do you know what Trump’s plans are for those opium fields? I ask this in context of Trump’s oft stated desire to stop the “heroin epidemic” in this country. Or did you just conveniently overlook that aspect of his campaign?
Rather than blow your wad all over kingdom come, how about stepping down off your soap box, and wait to see what unfolds? Or is that you just have this insatiable need to be in a pissing contest about a future outcome you cannot possibly know?
I seem to recall seeing one idea that was to sow already planted opium fields with a lot of sterile seed that would crowd out the good seed. Wonder if that was ever tried.
I am neither a moron nor blind; though your use of "blind", rather than "deaf" is incorrect, patently ridiculous, and irrational!
And hell yes...you hysterics ARE, indeed, posting emotional claptrap.
I suppose, by your lights, if some ISIS or al,Qaeda terrorists managed to blow up the Pentagon, you would want President trump to sit on his hands, keep his mouth shut, and just sit in a corner, like a drooling idiot.
Yes, the above was both sarcastic and hyperbolic, but it was an outre example of the type of inane, puerile, and ridiculous posts you and a few others have made to this thread.
You post uneducated, EMOTIONAL, and very poorly stated, unthought out tripe!
Tonight, the president delivered a sober, thoughtful, speech, in which, right at the beginning, he clearly stated that due to information, he had CHANGED HIS MIND !
You don't know what info he has and you are excoriating him over something which you neither know anything at all about, nor understand at all!
Frankly, you and a few others are acting like spoiled two year olds, who are told that even though they were told that they would go to the park to play, today, they can't go because there is a blizzard/tornado/pouring rain today.
"WITHDRAWL" was never a campaign promise....made by candidate Trump! That was wee barry !
Thank GOD that you are far too young to have been needed to fight an enemy, when this nation fought to win!
And FYI....every single person, in our ALL VOLUNTEER MILITARY SERVICES should have long ago realized just WHAT they signed up to do.....FIGHT! And during a war....people die!
To be honest, not impressed with that the military industrial complex seem to have won this battle.
For me, Trump has one crucial mission - build the wall.
If he doesn’t do that he I could never support him again, he would have failed on arguably his signature campaign pledge.
There is no future for America without it, it may already be too late anyway, but this was the one glimmer of hope.
Dunno. Didn’t count. Not trying to be insulting. It just so happens you articulated as your own, a point on this topic that he formerly made many times.
I didn’t agree when he said it, and I still don’t. Just like I didn’t agree with abandoning Saigon back when. I was just a kid, but I could see we were throwing in the sponge for no other reason than that Democrat shitheads (sorry to be redundant, there) had sabotaged the war for political points with willing help from Hanoi Jane and Walter Cronkite.
For all Trump’s talk of getting out, it seems inconsistent with the rest of what we’ve seen out of Trump for him to be cool with leaving Afghanistan a disaster, or leaving it as a U.S. defeat. I think Trump is thoroughly disgusted with how we’ve blown our win over there, and he’s got the vision and courage to rally, here, late in the game and finally “put it away.”
With commitment and commensurate material we could be DONE over there, with an incontrovertible victory to show for it by next summer, and every last pair of U.S. boots in that hellhole could come home on the wings of the promise that any relapse of ISIS tendencies would invoke the certainty of godlike fire from on high.
We’re sick of Afghanistan for the same reasons we got sick of f’n ‘Nam: political waffling in Washington crippling military operations with ridiculous and deadly encumbrances like Rules of Engagement that all but make our troops sitting ducks, the grotesque transvestiture of a military force with ill-fitting humanitarian directives... in short — non-military political schemers trying to manipulate a war halfway around the world solely for the hope of victory at the polls next go ‘round.
Well, ta Hell with “winning hearts and minds”; blow the ever-lovin’ guts out of the enemy, leave them no fathers, brothers, or sons. Galvanize the collective mind of an entire nation with the vivid, bullet-riddled understanding that alignment with ISIS, al-Qaeda, the Taliban et. al. is a dead end in all senses of the phrase. Punctuate that statement with earth-shattering explosions as necessary to carry the point. It’s hard to frame an opposing argument when a 500lb bomb just made you involuntarily void the contents of your guts from your duodenum on down.
The Koranimals don’t believe we’re at all serious, at this moment, because we’ve just wrapped up 8 years of the Idiot-in-Chief signaling to them all that we’re not. But there’s a new sheriff in town, and reality on the ground in the ‘stans needs to substantively reflect that change. With THAT sort of leadership, I actually believe we CAN get the job done.
My hubby and family were also in nam. That is where my hate of war comes from. If we do as you say below, I am in but we haven’t done this in history. Looks like we will see...

McMaster is even more of a “religion of peace” coddler than Trump was.
And did you notice? Last night Trump obeyed McMaster by not once referring to radical Islamic terrorism. In fact, did we here any description of the enemy other than “terrorists”? No, I didn’t think so.
I hadn’t noticed the omission of Islam, but now that you mention it... interesting.
I think you’re a DU troll.
It is ridiculous (and unoriginal) to accuse Quigley of being a DU troll. If Obama had given last night’s speech, you would be reacting very differently.
But both of them reflect the policy of the military-industrial Swamp.
Or maybe I'm suffering from PostEclipseStressDisorder [PESD]. Well, I did look into the sun. It will pass.
Attacking Freepers who dare to hold Trump to his promises is beyond the pale. These are serious issues and deserving of vigorous debate. Breaking a promise by putting more American troops at risk places a very high onus on Trump to justify his reversal. His speech did nothing but confirm he is now in the thrall of the generals and NWO advocates. Coming immediately after Bannon’s departure is an ominous development. Candidate Trump was elected because he spoke truth about Islam, about illegal immigration, about the insanity of social experimentation in the military, about the need for a wall. He’s far better than Clinton but he is going to be a huge disappointment to a big chunk of his base as the Ivanka approved compromises continue to unfold.
I sadly totally agree.
And Trump’s bending his whole admin staffing to the wishes of his liberal Democrat princess will not only be his downfall, but the country’s as well.
Islam is Islam, there are no radical elements or moderate elements. Neutrality the West sees is based on “cultural” Islam which is a blasphemous stance against “Allah”. Cultural Islam is the equivalent of a person claiming to be Christian, but denying the divinity of Christ. CI is based on “virtue signaling”, attention, and arrogance. The danger in this comes from those who take Islam seriously. Said this many times but Islam is a counter-hegemonic force. The Socialist found this out rather quickly so instead of subverting their religion, they attempted to use Islam for their political advantage.
One glaring example is how the CIA and the Joint Chiefs were completely buttf*ed by the Iranian revolution in the late 70’s. Contrary to popular belief, the supposed “radical” element are not comprised of uneducated camel humpers, they are pious and their leaders are highly educated. This trickles down because the leaders want their “minions” educated in Islam and various tactics used by previous Islamic strategists. The revolution was a student led victory after all despite what McMaster believes the radical element is comprised of.
This subject is complex, especially on the Sunni side which we are beholden to the most so I will get to my point: Trump is compromised by “pie in the sky” strategy that has failed many times over. His natural instinct is correct, especially for the long-term and the way our government is set up (Administrations change and so does strategy). You win wars quickly, COIN is just a theory on paper, in practice, its an expensive failure due to not taking post-Medina Islam seriously.
Your jealousy is showing
