Speaker of the House Paul Ryan advised Republicans to run away from candidate Donald Trump before the election in order to save themselves and hold a future-President Hillary Clinton accountable, Republican Rep. Louie Gohmert of Texas revealed in an exclusive video interview with The Daily Caller New Foundation.
“Are you crazy? We haven’t held anyone accountable. You haven’t even let us hold the IRS commissioner accountable [for using government power to harm President Obama’s political adversaries],” an astonished Gohmert said to the speaker on a call.
Gohmert told TheDCNF he speaks so courageously because he wants the party to succeed and is appreciative of the prayers sustaining him. He struggles to find joy as he watches government leaders run from doing what is best for the nation at this critical time.
“We don’t want to go down in history as the generation that was fine with making the future for our kids much worse than we had it,” he said.
Gohmert added “there’s hope” for the future after the Republican disunity on display when Congress sought to repeal Obamacare, “but we have to make our case. We can’t let whoever gives millions of dollars dictate what we’re going to do, and not do, like has been going on.”
Commenting on the aftermath of the Sanders supporter shooting Republicans practicing for a baseball game, he said he was surprised by the Republican reaction, but not the Democrats’ response.
Democrats, he said, refused to acknowledge “the hate we’ve stirred up, the violence we’ve demanded,” but wanted to focus on “the gun.”
Republicans seem inclined to beef up their own protection as public officials, but Gohmert saw that it was guns, used by those trained to use them, that saved lives. Gohmert thinks the Republican leadership needs to step up and allow national reciprocity for concealed carry so people can protect themselves. “Stop forcing us to be sitting ducks,” he said.
Might be easier to get him voted out of the speaker’s chair than to defeat him in his home district.
We got rid of Cantor, we can get rid of Ryan. This POS belongs in the 2018 trash heap along with Jeff Flake.
Meanwhile, Trump endorsed him over Paul Nehlen. What a snake Ryno is.
The Donald is a winner. He probably knew Ryan would get Dem crossovers to keep the “ wolf in sheets” clothing on the RINO team. Now , especially with this, and Bannon hopefully unleashed we can “ unleash the dogs of Hell” on this fake.

Agree. Wisconsin Dem’s know they get a 2 fer in Ryan... A RINO who will serve their purposes when it comes to the tough stuff.
I’m not sure if I will ever be able to vote republican again. After all, they get elected and side with the dems on everything and back stab us and President Trump daily. I see no point in putting them in office. In my opinion, there is nothing lower than a congressman. They are all dirt bags.

It’s amazing what huge support Ryan=o has in the Republican caucus. We need to removed over half of the current GOP members, but that’s impossible to do.
They think we don't notice how biased and hateful they are toward us - but we notice. It's not time to leave the country for our safety yet ... but it is time to think about the possibility.

Well vote in your primary and then sit it out thereafter if you must.
Vote in the primary, that is most essential. If your candidate loses then either vote for the Democrat opponent or stay home.
I hope Ryan gets replaced in the next election by someone that really cares about the constitutions and really supports returning our country to constitutional and legal situation.
Someone who will support holding the freakin’ thieves and criminals of the swamp accountable.
Ryan show his true colors-and they aren’t the same as those in Middle America - they line up with the coastal Elite Snobs.
Paul Ryano always reminds me of a silent film character with his eyes that look like he’s wearing makeup. Plus he’s always got that $hit eatin grin on his face.
