Virginia Secretary of Public Safety and Homeland Security Brian Moran told Richmond talk radio host Jeff Katz on Monday that Governor Terry McAuliffe “made the decision . . . to shut things down” at Emancipation Park in Charlottesville...August 12.
Appearing on Katz’s 1140 AM WRVA radio program, Moran explained the rapidly moving sequence of events that began at 11:22 a.m. when he phoned Governor McAuliffe from the City of Charlottesville Command Center located on the sixth floor of the Wells Fargo building in downtown Charlottesville, just a few blocks from Emancipation Park.
“In light of the escalating violence we had to shut things down,” Moran told Katz (beginning at the 4:15 mark in the audio recording of the interview).
“At about 11:22 I called the governor and he immediately made the decision yes, go ahead, and of course, in consultation with the Virginia State Police, Colonel Flaherty, we put in the appropriate place to clear the park and clear the streets,” Moran said.
Katz was able to confirm Moran’s statement the following day, Tuesday, when he interviewed Virginia State Police Superintendent Stephen Flaherty, who said that both he and Charlottesville City Manager Maurice Jones were with Secretary Moran at the Wells Fargo building command center that morning.
“The [Charlottesville] City Manager was in the command post with us [on the 6th Floor of the Wells Fargo building downtown Charlottesville],” Flaherty told Katz. But seconds later in that interview, Flaherty let slip what critics of the police response to the Emancipation Park rally and related brawls between two opposing groups have been saying since the event occured.
“We felt early on we would probably have to declare an unlawful assembly,” Flaherty said.
An eyewitness account described the events that morning that Secretary Moran told Katz comprised “the escalating violence.”

In the live video that The Hill posted on their Facebook page, you can hear “organizers” on megaphones stopping the counter-protestors from turning left to go out of the area, and funneling them back down to the intersection where the accident happened.
Who would have thought thirty years ago that “slime” would become the new name of the Commonwealth of VA. Surely they can do better there but are unwilling to do so.

Helicopters crash, it happens. Two of my best friends were helicopter pilots. One lived, one died. It happens, but I think the reason we don’t hear much about that chopper is because they don’t want it in the forefront. Probably had audio, and video they don’t want seen, or heard.

IF for some reason they all pitch their fate in with McHarelip and go forward with prosecution, not only will a light be shined on all their communications, but also the testimony of the red minivan driver and the silver sedan driver will be unveiled. And the minivan driver will have to explain how this bashed-in driver's-side second door happened, i.e., Antifa was beating on this minivan well before the Fields crash. |

I have been trying to understand what happened to the two cars on Fourth St. that were in front of Fields.
Can you point me in the direction of any pictures showing those cars being attacked?

Brian Moran, our Secy of Public Safety, is a blithering idiot and always has been. He’s either the brother of, or son of former Rep. Jim Moran (D-Va), a once sane person (I knew personally) who went off the tracks a long time ago, wife beater, possibly drunkage, and turned into an anti-Israel activist (despite our synagogue being one of his earliest supporters - we held a special celebration for him and his lovely wife). But those were the old days.
Brian, on the other hand, was always a dumbass. Never had any respect for him in any job he had. Just a political toady without any real common sense.
