Trump Tells Aides He Has Decided to Remove Stephen Bannon
New York Times ^ | August 18, 2017 | MAGGIE HABERMAN

President Trump has told senior aides that he has decided to remove Stephen K. Bannon, the embattled White House chief strategist who helped Mr. Trump win the 2016 election, according to two administration officials briefed on the discussion.

The president and senior White House officials were debating when and how to dismiss Mr. Bannon. The two administration officials cautioned that Mr. Trump is known to be averse to confrontation within his inner circle, and could decide to keep on Mr. Bannon for some time.

As of Friday morning, the two men were still discussing Mr. Bannon’s future, the officials said. A person close to Mr. Bannon insisted the parting of ways was his idea, and that he had submitted his resignation to the president on Aug. 7, to be announced at the start of this week, but it was delayed in the wake of the racial unrest in Charlottesville, Va.

Mr. Bannon had clashed for months with other senior West Wing advisers and members of the president’s family.

But the loss of Mr. Bannon, the right-wing nationalist who helped propel some of Mr. Trump’s campaign promises into policy reality, raises the potential for the president to face criticism from the conservative news media base that supported him over the past year.

Trump needs to quit listening to the haters. He’ll never please them.

I didn’t say he’d never quit.

Stop lying. I said HE said he’d never quit.

I for one, knew at some point soon he would, not because “Kushner wants him out” or “McMaster pushed him out” but because of who Steve is. But, honestly, why bother telling you?

You’re not interested in facts or what people on the inside say, cause you KNOW what’s happening.

Former White House Chief Strategist Stephen K. Bannon returned as Executive Chairman of Breitbart News Friday afternoon and chaired the company’s evening editorial meeting. Ranked the #63 website in America by Amazon-owned ‪Alexa.com, and with the #13 Facebook page in the world, Breitbart News is considered the most influential populist website in the world.

“The populist-nationalist movement got a lot stronger today,” said Breitbart News Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow. “Breitbart gained an executive chairman with his finger on the pulse of the Trump agenda.”

Breitbart News CEO and President Larry Solov agreed. ..."

While you were pretending everything was fine behind the scenes...I was saying in april he would only last a few more months..because it wasnt fine behind the scenes. As weekly standard just pointed out..its been precarious for some time.

"Trump is Bannon and Bannon is Trump.

"For whatever reason, Bannon gave Trump no other possible choice."

One was the sabot, the other the round.

Either way, the resulting projectile has already laid waste to a lot of the insanity that defined the Obama administration.

And I’m telling you that you have no clue. It wasn’t “precarious.” It was all Steve.

I could have told you in September that it would be unlikely he would stay long-—not cause anyone is “conspiring” against him-—because he can beat all those people with one hand tied behind his back.

It’s Steve. He has always been an adrenaline junky. I have been interviewed by him as a film director. He isn’t even looking at the shot. He’s texting while the shooting is going on. The campaign was a rush. He stayed on because organizing the government was a rush. But now we are into that time in an administration where all the glitz is gone and it’s all about nuts and bolts, reading policy briefs, making budget decisions about a base in the Virgin Islands, and so on.

THAT’S NOT STEVE. He hates that stuff. When I was with him on Aug 4 he expressed frustration-—not about a PERSON, but about the monumental size of government and how slow it was to do anything. He really thought change would come faster. Maybe Trump did too. But it’s a marathon, not a sprint.

Please don’t keep kidding yourself that your conspiracy theories are real. They had nothing to do with this, and if you’d followed Bannon’s career, you knew when the rush had ended.

That’s precisely what he told me.

Now, you can call Bannon a liar, since nothing seems to fit your scenarios.

Actually, there is a very good reason for Bannon saying what he said. See if you can figure it out.

I cant call him a a liar.

Yet .it doesnt seem to dawn on you that he might tell people things that may not be true so those people will spin for him

No. He would simply say, “No comment” or not answer me.

He never once told me something untrue.

Now, did you figure out WHY DT and Kelly let him say what he said about the NORKS?

I don’t need to push anything. I have the text.

Now, YOU push the claim that he lied. Go ahead. Since you know him so well.

>> It comes fom the guy who was always posting what bannon told him <<

Then I guess it’s OK.

I mean, Bannon would never try to deceive anybody, right?

Then that’s fine, and that’s different.

But you still haven’t even tried the little thought problem.

Why would DT allow Bannon to say what he said? There is a perfectly logical explanation.

I would be more prone to believe trump told bannon it was okay...just like i believe trump may not have had a problem with scaramucci interview until it blew up

but I don’t believe Kelly approved of what bannon did

You act like Steve didn’t have a say in it.

The pace of governing was way, way too slow for him. It’s not his style. I’m surprised that temperamentally he lasted this long.

Just spoke with a guy who was part of the Schwartzenegger revolution in CA. They came in the same way. After three months, may quit because governing even in the best of times is a damn drudge. It’s moving boulders a foot at a time.

I credit Bannon & Trump for trying a blitzkrieg to get healthcare and taxes done. But it came up short. So we’re in for slogging it out.
