Interest in two major protests opposed to Saturdays right-wing free speech assembly in a Boston park has swelled in the aftermath of the deadly white nationalist rally in Virginia last weekend.
The Boston Free Speech Rally organized by a coalition of groups calling themselves "libertarian" and "conservative" has been on the books since late July and the protests were organized not long after by ANSWER Coalition Boston and the local chapter of Black Lives Matter (BLM).
But since a group of neo-Nazis, white supremacists and Ku Klux Klan members took to the streets (sic) in Charlottesville, Virginia ostensibly to protest of the removal of a Confederate statue the expected attendance by protesters has grown substantially.
It went from a few hundred to well over 1,000 to now roughly 3,000 pretty quickly, said ANSWER Coalition Boston organizer Nino Brown. There are about 10,000 interested in our event, according to Facebook.
A BLM-organized demonstration called Fight Supremacy experienced the same growth, raising more than $20,000 by Thursday night and suddenly expecting more than 10,000 attendees.

I agree with you. Someone’s are being thrown to the lions. Stay home and watch it on Periscope.
Really? So they’re protesting free speech??
Remember how we worried that Obama would declare martial law? Now the shoe’s on the foot and I’m hoping that TRUMP will declare it!
I’d love to see that, too. He’s the head of the executive branch. He’s there to enforce the law.
Do it and let the SOBs get violent. Then he can really go to town.
Conservatism is a political and social philosophy that promotes retaining traditional social institutions in the context of culture and civilization. By some definitions, conservatives have variously sought to preserve institutions including religion, monarchy, parliamentary government, property rights and the social hierarchy, emphasizing stability and continuity.
Did anyone see the words destructive, destroy, harm, kill, forced change, inflict theories, anything that can be construed as an effort to force the public to accept a theory inconsistent with the wishes of the Constitution or the Bill of Rights?
The new liberals are much different from years ago. Obama expanded the military conflict overseas while trying to bribe the powers over there to share in a peaceful opposition. The agreement with Iran is a perfect example. But they have, in the US proper, been very contributory to the destruction of our country both socially and financially.
The original attempt by the feds to create a better state concerning racism was the Civil Rights Act of 1964. And the only people in congress that tried to overturn it were southern democrats so they could keep blacks in check.
I am a firm believer that a lot of the dissident people who created the problem in Carolina wer hired thugs masquerading as conservative groups. Since when is the KKK a conservative group when they act and theorize consistent with those same southern democrats of the sixties?
I live in the northwest. At the world meeting of economists years ago, it was determined that a number of hired thugs wee here to disrupt the meeting. They were hired by people whose belief was that of democrats. I see a mirror image.
I believe it is planned as an attack on Trump again through the media that has lied more times than ever on this topic.

It seems like a good idea for conservatives to avoid the place.
At least with this theme and target get clarity.
It was NEVER merely “White Supremacists” that Antifa and their fellow travelers in the media and the Democrats were “protesting”.
As the NBC now at least labels who the Left is “protesting” - the “right wing”.
It was ALWAYS - Antifa - against ANYTHING to the “right” of them and that includes of course anyone who while not a bigot or a “White Supremacist” is merely a Conservative or even just a Libertarian.
“If theyre Italians and Irish from there, they are tough SOBs and will be fine.”

Boston is no longer a city of Irish and Italians——students, tourists, and gentrified liberals run the place.
The family oriented Boston in which I grew up is gone.
.
Well that stinks.
Hope you’re well :)
