Pelosi wants Confederate statues out of Capitol
By Mike Lillis - 08/17/17 12:25 PM EDT
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Thursday joined the growing chorus of Democrats calling for the removal of Confederate statues from the Capitol.
Calling the monuments a reprehensible symbol of a racist era, Pelosi urged Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and other GOP leaders to support an effort to purge the statues from the building.
There is no room for celebrating the violent bigotry of the men of the Confederacy in the hallowed halls of the United States Capitol or in places of honor across the country, Pelosi said in a statement.

I would like to think things won’t get worse but I’ll have to defer to what I was told 50+ years ago by my elders. (note the plural tense)
Back during a time when abortion on demand horrifying.
Back during a time when gay marriage was unthinkable.
I was told there’s a time coming when American will be turned into hell.
What a coincidence. I want Pelosi out of the Capitol
And we want Pelosi out of the Capital, but neither one will happen.
Hmm... she seemed to be fine with them a month ago. A year ago. 2 years ago....
Since the lying, hypocritical Democratic Party defended slavery, founded the KKK, and has a long history of fighting against civil rights in the U.S., maybe all Democrats should be driven out of the Capitol starting with grotesque Nancy Pelosi.
But she was good with them the first 77 years of her life.
It started when those idiots let them take down confederate flags. Nikki Haley has a lot to blame by giving the loony left an inch. Give an inch, they’ll take a mile.
Who cares what Pelosi wants?
Yeah, and I want Pelosi out of politics. Sadly, we have such a cadre of spineless GOP politicians that it will likely happen. Condoleezza Rice said tearing down statues of things that reflect mistakes of the past simply makes it easier to forget the lessons of the past. Snowflakes can't think that deep.
So the idea was that each state could put two statutes of whomever they chose to be in the halls of the capitol building.
But I guess that smacks of “states rights” and is therefore racist.
So yah. States can’t choose their statues anymore. At least not confederate states.
And let’s just take a crap on with malice towards none and charity towards all.
Wow the Democrats really are stuck on stupid huh? They really think there’s massive support out there for removing historical monuments? They really think people are for Antifa and black lives matters? Wow really really stuck on stupid and I say good. Just think this is what this party is going to run on is this what they want to do they want to take this and use this as a strategy? Let’s remove statues a few people find offensive? Who finds it offensive? Ih a small radicalize group of activists over here that’s who. Most Americans understand that this won’t stop until they’re tearing down stuff that’s not even remotely offensive to most people.
I would prefer Confederate statues to Nazi Peelousie in DC.
The statues do less harm than the old ugly Nazi.
Let’s remove the Nazi and leave the statues where they’ve been for years.
The ugly, old, POS commie beoch can go screw herself.
What about “Russian collusion”?
I want to hear a plausible scenario where this doesn’t end in violence. They are on a full attack to eradicate traditional American culture...and enslave us to their rules.
This can’t end well as much as they hate us and show no signs of stopping.
Want to see Ryan, Mitchell, McCain, and Graham all capitulate? watch them come out and say we support removing them too... mark my words. These elitist are so out of touch.
I don’t care what they want. Most of America wants this monument trashing stopped.
I sure wouldn't or couldn't.
