It is shocking that in the current year of 2017, there are hateful symbols of the Ku Klux Klan still in the US Capitol. The statue to Robert Byrd must be removed.
-Robert Byrd was not only a KKK member but was in a key leadership position as "exalted cyclops"
-Robert Byrd actively worked against desegregation efforts and filibustered the Civil Rights Act of 1964
-He spent his career enriching himself and his cronies instead of being a civic minded leader for the people, earning himself the nefarious title "King of Pork" by Citizens Against Government Waste
-He spent his career promoting himself instead of serving his constituents, resulting in 3 times as many places in West Virginia named after him than Saddam Hussein had named after himself in Iraq
-He vowed to never serve in the US military as long as, in his words, "negroes" were allowed
-He is a great example on why career politicians are a problem, see this video of him to see why: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-V95eGgZbrU
Robert Byrd was a travesty to the US Senate, and he should not be memorialized as some kind of hero. The statue needs to be removed immediately.
If your post was on Facebook I would definitely give it a “like”.
Signed and tweeted.
I thought he was a "grand kleagle"

There, fixed it!
The rest of the statues they are tearing down are also of democrats...
I thought he was a "grand kleagle"
Noble Lumpkin?
Illustrious Potentate?
You’d have to ask the Dems. I’m not a KKK expert.
Petition schmption. Tear it down. Every time they tear down one of ours, tear down one of theirs.
BLM would vote for David Duke if he had a (D) next to his name.
but you can’t get the Protesters, Leftists, the America Haters to acknowledge that.
How bout King?
OUCH that’s a quote I have never seen.
Although a blatantly racist remark, I suspect byrd said this as his cop out for being too cowardly to serve in the military. So he was both a racist and a coward. Oh, a democrat.
Bkmk
Hell, just tell the Antifags that he was a southern civil war hero. They won’t know any better.
The cost of changing such signage in West Virginia would bankrupt the state.
I'm not fan of Robert Byrd but if he truly renounced his KKK-like views, I'm willing to forgive him of that. The same is true for anyone with past connections with the violent left if he or she truly renounces their previous views.
There you go...
"I'm not fan of Robert Byrd but if he truly renounced his KKK-like views, I'm willing to forgive him of that." The Left won't do that for us, so why should we? In fact, Left pressures people on the Right to acquiesce and celebrate the Left's position, not just renounce the old views.
Byrd's profligate ways create more long term problems for the state then the short term ones he was purported to have solved.
