Waiting staff in the US rely heavily on their tips to make up for their low wages, but one server in Rockford, Illinois, was surprised to find the reason for the lack of a gratuity written on a receipt.
"Can't tip someone who doesn't love Jesus! Bad tatoo [sic]" wrote the customer, instead of a tip, for Samantha Heaton, who bears rainbow-coloured equality bars on her arm, and has been serving at Buffalo Wild Wings for a year.
"It was shocking. I couldn't help but feel hurt," Samantha told the BBC. "I would've openly discussed my tattoo with them, had they asked. I talked to them about their food. They kept me constantly busy, but were not openly rude to me. I've never had someone write anything like this."

Notice that the picture doesn’t show if the receipt is the customer or merchant copy. I make sure to take the customer copy of my receipt to keep some goober from involving me in one of these attention getting stunts.
And another snowflake has a meltdown...
Look hon. YOU were the one displaying your preferences on your sleeve, so to speak. I don't care who you choose to sleep with, but in this case, whether you meant to or not, you were making an overt political statement.
Now it's a simple matter of fact that politics divides us, and when you flaunt yours, it's going to provoke a reaction from some of the people who are exposed to it.
You work in a service industry that depends upon a wide variety of guests, and you work in a low-skilled field where you depend on tips.
By "virtue signaling" your sexual preference, you give non-"progressives" a message that basically says "I'm DIFFERENT than you homophobic straight people". No, probably nobody else cares, they just don't like that attitude shoved in their faces.
Wear long sleeves at work, you won't have this problem.
Well me too!.. "I'm shocked I tell you, shocked."
( Someone please put up the Captain Renault pic from Casablanca- Thanks! )
“Gay” hoax “crime” #875,213.
You’d be surprised how PC most churches have become. They accept all sin as their rationale is: we all fall short of the glory of God, so everyone is welcome and accepted in this family of Christ. Once a church I was going to featured a film we watched about a gay pastor who tried to pray the gay away but it didn’t last and we were told to accept everyone as they are. I never went back to that church and have no regrets leaving.
What denominational affiliation, or ideology was that church?
Customer probably left a cash tip as a curtesy to the server, so she didn’t have to claim it as wages (illegal for her, but most don’t). Instead, she used their generosity as a weapon to further her political agenda. Next time, write “left cash on table” in tip line, instead of “0”.
The only place I saw blatant in-you-face homo-advocacy was at a Jason’s Deli once several years ago where a female order taker displayed a “rainbow” wristband. I mentioned it to the manager as a political display that was offensive and inappropriate. I never saw it again, but I think the young millennial didn’t last very long there.
How discriminating of you! Enjoy it while you can.
I believe it. People actually take to public media to whine every time a single person does something against them.
In my day we’d be embarrassed to suggest we were so weak, but now weakness seems to be a virtue.
“I’m so traumatized someone didn’t like my tattoo and decided not to tip me”. Well, at least they told you why, so you can decide if it is worth it to you to show your tattoo or not.
FWIW Methodist, but it could have been any of the "mainline" denominations.
Every one of these stories I’ve seen has been a hoax, I’m betting this one is too.
These fraudsters never pay a substantive price for their hateful false witness. If she were fired, she’d have the Gaystapo shutting down this business.
“God’s Law against perverted behavior is near universal through most of history among monotheistic religions. Even those who weren’t strongly religious would prefer that you keep your vices to yourself, and not scare the horses.”

According to the article the waitress DID NOT COMMENT, the patron ASSUMED, based on the tattoo. Nowhere did the article say she told the patron she was a lesbian.
And most importantly, tied Jesus to the tip. If the waitress had a Star of David tattoo, would you agree that because they are assumed to be Jewish, and did not believe that Jesus was the savior, as most of us Jews do not, that it would be enough to you to not tip?
If you answer that ‘Yes’ you are going over the top.
Isn’t a willingness to take the consequences an integral part of taking a public stand on a controversial issue? What’s she saying, “I support LGBTs, so long as I can do so at no cost”? Real crusader, that one.
It was a typical non-denominational church. They are all becoming this type of church.
So you talked to the manager and what was the manager’s reaction about the rainbow sleeve on one of his employees and that you didn’t like the political nature of it? Did he side with you the customer or his gay trans lez employee?
And you wonder how God’s message will be perverted in a place like that and the sheep being deceived attending that place.
Tat’s are frankly not attractive at all.....I don’t care who does them.... the skin does not pull it off as they think....but most with them will defend them because they’re stuck with them pretty much.
Besides inks used in tattoos are actually not developed for use in humans.... The body recognizes tattoo pigments as foreign particles and tries to clear them from the skin, but the chemistry of the ink used in tattoos makes this process quite difficult for the body. Hence, most of the color stays in the skin but fades over time.
Not the ones I’m involved with.
A friend of mine told me that a member of his church is unrepentant regarding an ongoing affair. He was called out over the pulpit and members were advised that if they see him out and about, don’t tell him it’s OK, because it’s not.
I’ve been in other churches with similar issues and responses.
I was involved with another church who told us in 2013 that they would have to cease sponsoring our Boy Scout Troop because they don’t allow homosexuals in membership, so they cannot allow an organization that does.
I replied. “Good, we’re quitting BSA ourselves.” We moved the entire troop over to Trail Life USA
