Independent Journal Review (IJR) collected a few unintentionally hilarious Twitter responses from journalists who reported being shaken by President Donald Trump’s aggressiveness in an extraordinary press conference Tuesday that was centered on questions about the weekend’s violence at a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Vanity Fair reporter Gabriel Sherman was actually physically ill: “I am totally rattled by that presser. Chest tight, stomach queasy. Feel sick”:
Perhaps he should have his testosterone checked. It seems seriously depleted. But then, he does write for Vanity Fair.
Magazine editor David Lytle tweeted his empathy for Sherman: “I vomited on election night. Today, I bawled for 20 minutes. The stress and anxiety brought on by a threatening president is overwhelming”:
NBC’s Chuck Todd reportedly said on the air that the press conference gave him “the wrong kind of chills.”
“Honestly I’m a bit shaken by what I just heard, and I suspect it’s not just me,” he added.
Yahoo News editor Garance Franke-Ruta accused the President of “defending the nighttime white supremacist protest at UVA with torches”
CNN’s Brian Stelter echoed this concern, saying that “Trump risks sounding like a spokesman for the Unite the Right rally right now”
Trump claimed that “both sides” were to blame for the violence in Charlottesville, meaning the white supremacists and the “alt-left” radicals. That fair and balanced approach wasn’t what the left-leaning media wanted to hear.

Yeh they can’t handle the truth.
Drama queen crybabies, boo-fricken hoo. Clearly these divas with their worthless “communications” degrees aren’t cut out to do their jobs.
I hope President Trump does upset and scare them. Nobody gives a d@mn about their poor widdew fewings.
::Instead, just ask the question...where does this stop, are they going to tear down Mt. Vernon, Monticello, and the Jefferson memorial next?::
You say leave slave owning out of it and you don’t think by mentioning what you suggest brings it into the picture? Why else would the question even be asked?
::At this point, I think President Trump should not make any more statements about Charlottesville::
Yes - exactly!
Looks more like a Gabriella to me
Oh, I have no doubt..they are genuinely outraged at President Trump!
It’s been 9 months, yet they are still demanding for him to be stopped...still hoping to wake up from their collective yucky dream, and be carried back to La-la-obamaville where all was pretty rainbows and fluffy clouds for them.
They won’t give up trying to undo the election and don’t care what they have to do in order to accomplish their goal.

What a bunch of wimpy crybabies.
I even long for Walter Cronkite....and he was a liberal.
The press come at Trump with guns ablaze and then whine like kindergarten children when he fights back.
The MSM is in a difficult position, because it's comprised not only of advocacy groups for anti-democratic, hard leftists policies, but also a consortium of private business interests.
If the selection of 'news' issues (eg muh Russia, Trump is a nazi, etc) in which to drive the current cycle don't have an impact on either the 2018 or 2020 elections, then at some point the MSM may have to admit defeat and abandon this approach.
Right now, the MSM and their allies in the uni-party still feel safe in utilizing traditional methods involving character assassination, misrepresentation, and outright lying. So too the usual suspects in GOP clothing like Ryan, Romney, et al. It will only be when electoral defeat is quite obvious that we will begin to see a change in tactics.
My guess is that MSM executive management well aware the current methods aren't changing anyone's minds; they've completely lost any kind of influence in that regard. Rather, they have around 12 months in which to generate as much advertising revenue as they can. By September 2018, they're going to need to try and be serious in order to mount an effective campaign. Of course, it's already too late - which is why perhaps they've given up presenting issues in any meaningful way and have gone full tabloid.
I haven’t listened to the presser yet, but their reaction gives me a tingling sensation up and down my leg:-)
It should leave them fearing for their jobs. In a sane world anyway.
premeditated conspiracy to commit violence
Shake Rattle & Roll. Fits. I turned off Outnumbered about a half hour ago because they had Juan and Marie on. Switched to TCM, where they had a documentary on about Elvis. Really interesting, on the 40th anniversary of his death. They’re on the Ed Sullivan Show right now. I can imagine how these leftist pukes would be dealt with, swiftly, back in those days.
Really-Perhaps we can help these two wimps feel better by letting them know it wasn’t White Supremacism but rather #SorosSupremacism. A total prop event.
I think he should hold a press conference on the topic every day. Let the people watch the press screaming and unhinged while Trump sits back and lets them lose their remaining 12% credibility.
Yeah, that was a great exchange, but she should have kept on, instead she even admitted that he should have said this Saturday.
Then you have that think tank on Fox that comes on at 5pm Eastern, that has these no it alls, doubling down. These “30 year old thinkers” telling the president of the United States what to do.
I’m sick to death about this stuff. Trump is doing the heavy lifting out there folks, with no help in sight from any one.
Don’t worry, he’s probably the strongest willed person I’ve ever seen in my life. How he can maintain his composure is amazing.
Did you see him “thanking” everyone for coming to the press conference?
No he should have said I support States Rights & the Tenth Amendment-hey aren’t the Democrats using that to protect illegal alien pedophiles in our cities right now?
Or smashed.
