Race Preview After weeks of ads, mostly on behalf of incumbent Senator Luther Strange, the votes start rolling in tonight after 8pm EDT. Strange faces strong competition from former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore, who has led him in the polling average by about 5-6 points, and from Huntsville Congressman Mo Brooks, who has trailed Strange in the average by a little over the same margin. If polling is correct, Strange and Moore will advance to the September 26th runoff. We anticipate the first results will roll in within thirty minutes of polls closing. Well have comparison charts and a county-by-county display above as those numbers roll in.
Don’t know, I’m using the AP site posted earlier to track the results.
Doug Jones won’t win in November.
Al Dem Primary is basically a beauty contest.
Judge Moore deserves to win. That man has taken more undeserved crap from so many lesser unworthy insects.
Why didn’t Trump endorse Moore; he’s fantastic??
PUN INTENDED
Strange was a strange pick for Trump
Moore will be a big headache for Mitch
I wish all elections had runoffs.
Runoffs = no Perot = no Clinton = no stolen FBI files = no blackmail = different USA today ...
Amen to that. He’s as fearless as the President.
Well, I'd expect a little better from the rural areas, and maybe a tiny bit better in the urban.
I am betting as favor to sessions.
Mo Brooks is a strong conservative and great on immigration. He made the mistake of going with Cruz and trashing Trump.

It’s a treat, a reward from the Party.
The Dems had a surprise primary candidate: Bobby Kennedy, a Negro. Made for some amusing media stories but he washed out tonight. Wouldn’t say what his occupation was of all things.
15% in. Strange in second Moore ahead by 4%. I figure Moore will win the runoff because he will get at least half of Brooks votes in the runoff against Strange.
why would sessions want an establishment guy to fill his seat?
If the run off is between Moore and Strange
do you think that the Brooks supporters
will go to Moore?
I’m not from the area but very
interested and HOPING for Roy Moore
to fill Sessions seat.
That will be the result in Alabama tonight. The complete Republican primary vote tally (all candidates) versus the complete Democrat vote tally (All candidates) has the Republicans beating the Democrats 68% to 32% (2 to 1). A massive political defeat for the Democrat Party in Alabama.
No matter which two Republicans make the runoff slots....Trump rules....End of story.
I’m guessing a pimp or drug dealer.
Roy Moore 29,508 40%
Luther Strange 23,413 32%
Mo Brooks 15,132 21%
