Alabama Senate Primary tonight. Polls close 8PM. Brooks, Strange, Moore (LIVE THREAD)

Race Preview After weeks of ads, mostly on behalf of incumbent Senator Luther Strange, the votes start rolling in tonight after 8pm EDT. Strange faces strong competition from former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore, who has led him in the polling average by about 5-6 points, and from Huntsville Congressman Mo Brooks, who has trailed Strange in the average by a little over the same margin. If polling is correct, Strange and Moore will advance to the September 26th runoff. We anticipate the first results will roll in within thirty minutes of polls closing. We’ll have comparison charts and a county-by-county display above as those numbers roll in.

I’m confused, Strange is the sitting Senator. Wouldn’t Brooks be the one to stop Moore?

Personally, I don’t think any of them were in the race as a spoiler, think they all want to win.

I wish he HAD supported Moore, but to do so now would be rude, and it would show him to be wishy-washy.

Trump endorsing Brooks or Moore would have hurt them. That’s one reason he went after Sessions so hard, so he could endorse Strange and not hurt Brooks Moore. Alabama has been PO’d at Trump for a month.

Nothing I know of. Everyone knew what they were doing and no one could stop them. I remember Senators were hiding their faces coming out of a retreat with GOPe to throw more money at the race.

It will be up to the people in Alabama to stop the cheating.
