Trish Regan just tried, several times, to goad Alveda King in to condemning DJT and the things he’s said about racism, etc. Dr. King, a Trump supporter, wouldn’t take the bait. She basically said that everything Trump said was exactly right.

On balance, I totally agree with you about not chasing rabbits, and digging holes with Twitter, but in this case the whole Charlotte thing was starting to get out of control. With all the CEO’s, WalMart, the Fox infobabe, etc. the narrative was spinning into a dangerous orbit. In this case I think Trump simply had to get out in front and stop this outlandish escalation.

I will never forget the day of terror at Ft. Hood. Obama said nothing until a scheduled speech to a native American group. It was only after giving smiley shout outs to everybody there, he mentioned the incident. I don’t remember if he immediately called it workplace violence.
