For eight months Richard Spencer has vexed residents of Alexandria, Va., who despite writing "hate has no home here" on his sidewalk have found there's no way to force the white nationalist to leave.
The far-right organizer played a key role in last weekend's violent events in Charlottesville, Va., reviving his national profile and leading to another rally outside his rented northern Virginia home.
But finding a way to force Spencer out of a rented two-floor space serving as both residence and political hub has been fruitless.
"We can't just read his tweets and arrest him and remove him, which has been suggested by some people," said Craig Fifer, a city spokesman.

Maybe someone should suggest arresting Mr. Fuller....
‘scuse me///Fifer///
Sounds like the alias internet name of a certain Clintonista?
I’m surprised they haven’t sent in the nkvd or cheka.
Ah yes... tolerance from the diversity valoos crowd.
If he was William Ayres they’d be slobbering at the mouth with praises.
Maybe he’s an Obama supporter.
Never heard of this cat until recently.
I really have to wonder.
I will say the same thing about Spencer that I’ve said about other groups seeking discrimination protections.
People need three things for a normal life: food, employment, and shelter. Without these they WILL turn to a life of crime. That’s why these basic services are protected.
If it’s wrong to not house a black man, or a gay man, or a foreigner then it’s wrong to deny Spencer this basic essential.
I wonder if all the white power leaders are Soros plants.
Wait a minute, city officials are trying to get his landlord to evict him because they don't like his political views?
It's one thing for citizens to voice displeasure with a neighbor they dislike.
It's another thing entirely for government officials acting under color of law to try to get people evicted for their political views.
How are the neighbors going to like it when this guy gets a big judgment after suing the local government for violating his civil rights and their taxes go up to pay for it?
I am sure they are thinking "If only there was some sort of camp where offensive people could be concentrated."
I think you’re over counterintuitivising this.
His opponents are being stupid. If they want to get rid of him use the zoning laws.
Richard Spencer is for single payer.
I know I won’t feel safe until he is clapped in irons and screaming in a dungeon somewhere. Not that anyone ever cares about MY needs.
Yeah single payer for White People....
Call ti what you will — that’s socialism.
