Elections bureau would decide whether Robert Ritchie can use stage name
Robert Ritchie may end up challenging Democratic Sen. Debbie Stabenow in Michigan next year, but his stage name, Kid Rock, may not be allowed to appear on the ballot.
Kid Rock is a household name to Americans under the age of 50, and voters might be attracted to vote for him, as a middle finger to the political establishment. But its not immediately clear whether his famous stage name would appear on the ballot or if hed be required to run under his less-known given name.

I’ve seen candidates with “xxx” or (xxx) in the ballot name - Perhaps “Robert (Kid Rock) Ritchie” would work.
If enough folks believe enough to actually invest of themselves and donate to his campaign and get out and work towards the end of getting him elected, there's no telling what might be done.
Way too many FReepers like to talk big or talk defeatist and never back it up with any visible signs of actually striving to do something positive.
I usually suggest that they
to get a feel for what taking actual action vs. blowing smoke and calling it incense feels like.
I just looked it up, and learned that my memory failed me regarding Al Lewis’s gubernatorial run in NY. You are correct that he sought to appear as “Grandpa Al Lewis” on the ballot but that a state judge denied his request. I could have sworn that he sought to appear as “Grandpa Munster”; maybe that was his original idea and was convinced to try for “Grandpa Al Lewis” instead, but ultimately was unsuccessful even with that name.
If Dr. Carson weren’t in the cabinet, he was considered yet another contender for the Senate seat.
Yeah, I don’t think he ever tried to put any form of “Munster” on the ballot, always “Grandpa Al” as the fans knew him. Of course, I remember him as Officer Leo Schnauser from “Car 54.”
And I’d be calling for Keith Butler to try again.
I was a huge fan of The Munsters as a kid, and didn’t watch Car 54 until much later. And I also loved Lewis as the judge in Used Cars (an unrecognized classic from the early ‘80s).
Of course, Grandpa Munster was a Green (went with his skin tone in those terrible color episodes), but Eddie Munster was a Republican (and had a U.S. House seat stolen from him by Democrat Sam Gejdensen (sp?)).
“Used Cars” is a GREAT movie and, IIRC, Steven Spielberg was involved. One of Kurt Russell’s best roles...and “Lenny & Squiggy” were a riot.
“That’s just too fuc-in’ high!”

Based on his White House bid, Carson should never run for office again. A seasoned democrap would rip him apart in a master debate.
Car 54 also had Fred Gwynne in the co-star role. It’s been close to 25 years since I’ve seen an episode but still remember the theme song words.
I was fine with Grandpa Al running as a Green, since for a time, they were doing for some Democrats what the Libertarians were doing for the GOP (especially in New Mexico when the Greens cost the Dems the Governorship in ‘94 and Bill Redmond’s special election victory for Bill Richardson’s 3rd district, which sent the Dems into epileptic fits).
Thanks. Al Lewis was also a highly respected basketball scout.
“Eddie Munster was a Republican (and had a U.S. House seat stolen from him by Democrat Sam Gejdensen (sp?)).”
Hahahahahha.
I came across a tv movie once where the Munsters go to England.
If found it unwatchable due to the lack of a laugh track.
Ed Munster of CT is still very active.
A bit of a folk hero in that part of the state. I think it was a 6 vote margin of defeat. Or maybe 21.
21 votes per Our Campaigns.
Almost 28K votes for the horrendously named “A Connecticut Party”, did Weicker call it that cause they would let him call it “The Connecticut Party”? More like a fart party.
It was either that or the Weicker Gooch or Weicker Queef Party.
That said, Justice Bob Young has my vote anyway. I know the man. He's a great guy. He's conservative. He's been a great Supreme Court Justice for Michigan.
too many small parties on the ballot in CT. they are listed alphabetically.
so A Conn Party ... started with “A” got to get on top ... so it was closer to the Dems and Rs.
I blame us pro-lifers for Munster loss. My fault.
We did nothing for him.
Dude you will not friggin believe this.
They are rebooting Dynasty
It sounds like it will bash the rich

Melrose Place alum Grant Show is playing Blake Carrignton
“Cristal” is his Latina fiance.
Elizabeth Gillies, who played Denis Leary’s daughter on his latest show, is playing our beloved Fallon. Most of the focus will be on Fallon and “Cristal”.
And the eerie part, based on this thread, the Colbys are Black, John James character is being played by Sam Adegoke.
I knew about some of that back months ago. It will be a predictable failure going this absurd and PC route. People didn’t tune into Dallas and Dynasty to have politics slapped in their face. They watched it to see rich folks, to emulate rich folks, revel in the soapy high drama and to watch what J.R. and Alexis would do next and to see who’d get thrown into the Ewing pool or a catfight with the Dynasty ladies.
Hell, even the middle class “Knots Landing” had to make the characters get rich in order to boost ratings and bring in some villains (Donna Mills) to get it all rolling.

Trailer there. Doesn’t look good.
The ethnicity changes are fine in of of themselves, the skeevy limo driver is Black too, so I guess that makes Fallon a Kardashian, whatever. I don’t like the spelling change to “Cristal”. The girl playing Fallon is nice looking but she’s not working for me, and she looks better with dark hair.
Stephen being gay is gonna have zero shock impact now, I figured they’d make him a tranny, I’m surprised they didn’t, making they’re saving that plotline. Instead they just made him FLAMING. Sammy Jo is now Crital’s nephew, the gheyest Latino I’ve ever laid eyes on.
No word on who will play Alexis.
