There was a recent crime show before the seasons ended, possibly Criminal Minds, about a car whose computer had been hacked remotely and was then used to target people, no matter what the driver tried to do to stop it. This has crossed my mind here.
WaPo has named the owner of the car, James Field of Ohio. Probably is the driver, but we’ll find out soon enough.
The 4chan kids had the vehicle registration, the guys FB and Twitter accounts within the hour. Literally 4 hours ago. Twitter is trying desperately to purge all traces but they are too late. This “Fields” guy is a distraction. The current registration that was posted on 4chan 4 hours ago was for the bearded kid IN THE CAR seen in frames posted from various cellphone vids within minutes. The BSM is so far behind on this they are pathetic.

No point in hanging onto that story - wish it was true, it would make the next week a lot easier. But more sources confirming that the car was sold to James Alex Fields. Looks like he might have been kicked out of the Army, so maybe mentally ill.
And it appears that it was all based on an outdated data base that was listing a previous owner.
