At raucous town halls, Republicans have faced another round of anger over health care

BRUNSWICK, Ga. — The long August congressional recess, which Republicans hoped would begin a conversation about tax reform and must-pass budget measures, has so far seen another round of angry town halls focused on President Trump and the stalled effort to repeal the Affordable Care Act.

Over just one day, in three small towns along Georgia’s Atlantic coastline, Rep. Earl L. “Buddy” Carter (R-Ga.) spent more than four hours answering 74 questions, many of them heated. Just three focused on tax reform; nearly half of all questions focused on health care.

“We did our job in the House,” Carter said at the top of a town hall at Brunswick’s College of Coastal Georgia. “It got over to the Senate, and it hit a stumbling block there. Now it’s in their court, and they need to get something done. Folks, we’re not giving up.”

But at town-hall meetings since the start of the recess, tax reform has hardly come up; health care has dominated.

Ditch Mitch and get this done.

Vote out all incumbent GOP over the next 3 election cycles.

Trumps heart is in the Right Place, he’s got a Congress full of GOP NO-LOADS that are right in step with the Dem’s and Obama’s agenda.

I don’t blame Trump , I will never vote for any incumbent GOP House, Senate , whatever. ..... never again. They are just to Lazy and too Stupid. Sad but True.

Ditch Mitch and get this done.

Slogans do not equate to votes. Sen. McConnell voted to repeal and replace. Ditching him does not get the measure another vote. The problem is with the Democrats, and the three Republicans who joined them, not the 49 Republican Senators who voted to repeal.

Socialists and communists make up the bulk of the media around the country. The only people who gravitate to the journalism profession are the lazy socialistic leeches who find their way into the newsrooms all across the country. If you’re really good at crafting your propaganda you can move up in the world and report for MSNBC, CBS, ABC and even CNN.

America....wake up. This is who is reporting your daily headlines!

“We did our job in the House,”

Liar. You did not repeal ACA.

Vote out all incumbent GOP over the next 3 election cycles.

That would revert to 2008 and even worse, a very foolish idea. We cannot afford for the House to revert to Pelosi (impeachment articles) and the Senate to Schumer (impeachment could pass). It is better to persuade by winning. It was a mistake to tackle Obamacare before taxes. No Democrat will vote to repeal Obamacare. Some Democrats can vote for tax reform in 2017, albeit perhaps not in 2018.

Who's the Senate Majority Leader? Who's job is it to corral the other Republicans to get things accomplished?

Sorry, but Mitch is a failed leader. He should be replaced.

Ditch Mitch and get this done.

That'll do it - he's preventing Murkowski, Collins, and McCain from being the true, bold conservatives they really are. Get someone like Lindsey Graham in there instead as leader and see how they take a huge shift to the right.

” It is better to persuade by winning. “
Right, - How’s that working out for you.

YOUR thinking allows Congress to rule the people, .... that’s what they are doing right now, ....

VOTE the incumbents OUT OUT OUT.
Make them trash their perspective, wade into them..... make them pay the hefty price, Make them write the Healthcare Check, make them find a new career. VOTE them them up and through the UPRIGHTS!!

There are 10 Democrat Senators up for re-election in states that Trump won...none of whom voted to repeal, nor any of the other Democrats up for re-election. Why would it not be better to focus on removing them?

These comments aside, glad to see that conservatives have now decided to start showing up at these townhalls and demanding repeal - before these townhalls were filled with screaming leftists harassing the Republicans into demanding that Obamacare stay in place as is. They should have been showing up all along.

Which is what the GOPe apologists want. It's what they've become accustomed to. They don't want a representative republic of citizen lawmakers, they want to be ruled by a GOP aristocracy in DC.

I swear, sometimes I think these apologists that post on Free Republic are paid by Washington.

There are plenty of registered Republican voters who think the government should cover all pre-existing conditions and cover "kids" until they are 26.

Heck, there are some Freepers who think this.

And Trump promised to do just that.

The problem is that there is no way of doing that without a drastic insurance mandate or without shoveling billions in subsidies at the insurance industry.

The numbers just do not work, and I am completely unsurprised that the attempt to square the circle has failed.
