Former President Obama will re-emerge on the national scene this fall, though Democrats expect him to do so with caution.
One aide describes the beginning of a "delicate dance" that aims to put Obama in the Democratic fray, but prevent him from remaining the face of the party.
Aides will huddle with Obama in the coming weeks to plot out what shape the former president's fall schedule will take. Advisers close to him say that while he will play an active role in helping his party rebuild, much of his work will be behind the scenes.
He is likely to take on fundraising, for example, something he has done for the Democratic National Committee and the National Democratic Redistricting Committee since leaving office.
In recent months, Obama has played a larger behind the scenes role than was publicly known.
The Hill reported in July that he met with DNC Chairman Tom Perez as well as lawmakers at his office to give his guidance on a number of issues.
But advisers to the former president acknowledge he also doesn't want to be "a foil" -as one top ally put it - for President Trump and the Republican leadership.

Here’s the reality that I think even the Dems know:
First, Zero won election the second time, barely. 500k votes. Trump last time would have flat beaten Zero in FL and OH, but still lost the election by losing PA, MI, and WI if 3% blacks don’t stay home. (Cankles actually did BETTER than Zero did in FL and OH)
In the meantime, Trump has picked up 300,000 votes in 12 battleground states, adding to his total NH and making PA very, very close-—even against Zero. Many of the Johnson voters would NOT vote for Zero, moving another 100,000 voters in MN, NH, ME, NM, NV and VA to Trump.
In other words, if the election were between Zero and Trump in 2020, it’d be very close and Trump would likely win.
Second, if Zero isn’t planning on running, he is toxic. He CANNOT transfer his blackness to any other candidate. But he alienates middle class whites who deserted him in mass between 2008 and 2012. They would flock to Trump.
So the bottom line is that Zero cannot benefit the Ds in any way shape or form-—EVEN IF HE HIMSELF tried to run again.
That's why the DNC refused to release the computers to the FBI to investigate any intrusion , or hack.
I believe that Obama not only knew about DNC dirty tricks against the Sanders campaign, but helped to orchestrate it.
It's a moot point since on January 7th, 2017 all the White Hut computers were removed two weeks before the Trump administration took office.
I thought all those government computers were government property, and not the personal property of the Obama family, since they contain government records,
and then the computers reappear at the new Obama Washington D.C. electronic enclave, a few blocks away from the White House.
It seems that Debbie Mayonnaise has the same confusion about electronic government property and laptop computers which are also on government 'secure' computer system.
The Dems seem to always have other people doing their dirty work while using other people's, or the government's property.
This is great news. The Obamas, particularly Barry, have a reverse-Midas touch. Everything they touch turns to ****.
Let’s hope this prissy sissy and his scowling wife are everywhere soon.
“Delicate dance”? On his fairy feet?
Nothing Soros stooge Obama does is “delicate.”
Will it be like his delicate first baseball pitch?
Someone has to lead the democrats but it should be someone ready to be president. Barry has had his turn but Michelle is eligible.
What with the condition he left the dem party I can’t believe they don’t want to all take his worthless sorry ass out back and beat hell out of him
“Delicate dance” = “He’s agreed to let them hump his leg”
“Delegate dance” = twerking
You can’t shine sh!t
I hope he destroys any legacy and makes Dem’s so mad they demand he be investigated for crimes he committed while in office.
Each and every comment Obama used to campaign was dripping with condescension.
Heard him in 2012 in my backyard tell the audience that ‘voting is the best revenge’. ‘Revenge’ needs no explanation. It means ‘the action of inflicting hurt or harm on someone for an injury or wrong suffered at their hands’ or payback, extracting payment for justice.
When someone tells you they mean you harm, best to pay attention.
The democrat party lost over 1,000 seats during obama.
I am looking forwarded to the democrats losing more with him showing up.
Trump can help by indicting him for Fast & Furious and the IRS scandal and Libya and Iran etc.

Trump's 'popular vote' margin of victory across Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania was 87,744 votes, or 0.14% of his popular vote total. Had Clinton won those states, she'd be president.
It is worth noting that Obama won with the aid of the media, Hollywood, the entire Democrat machine and a Republican candidate that, well....didn't have a killer instinct. In 2016, it was the reverse: Trump had the support of Deplorables - that was it - got a little help from the video of Hillary's 9/11 collapse and the last-minute Comey episode, and was a fighter.
Clearly, Obama's 0.8% is higher than 0.14%. But if 0.14% is "extremely close," (as some can mmentators have said) what can we say about 0.8% given all the relative headwinds?
So go ahead, let Obama help the Dems. It'll be like Tom Landry in the late 1980s.
