Can Journey survive Donald Trump?
Thats the question some fans are asking. And things definitely look iffy for the multiplatinum-selling Bay Area band right now, in the wake of guitarist and co-founder Neal Schon taking to Twitter to blast certain bandmates for a recent trip to the White House.
Schon was referencing a visit to Washington D.C. in late July, when three members singer Arnel Pineda, keyboardist Jonathan Cain and bassist Ross Valory, says Billboard posed for pictures with the President and staffers as well as reportedly met press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
To many including NBC News, which reported on the event it may have come across like an official band visit to the White House. Yet, Schon took to social media to let his nearly 30 thousand followers know that he was shocked and disappointed by his band mates actions. The result has generated plenty of headlines and concern among fans.

“let his nearly 30 thousand followers”
wow neal- things have really been slow for you...
Aside from Steve Perry, who I saw at a Giants game a few years ago, I had no idea the members of Journey were still alive, let alone together.
There’s a “Separate Ways” joke in this somewhere.
Journey are rockers? LOL, that’s hysterical.
Wouldn’t miss them. There are plenty of Journey tribute bands that sing and play better than them!! Saw one recently in my local area and they were fantastic!! Besides, what these liberal idiots don’t realize is, that there are Trump fans who pay to see them. Alienate them and they are pretty much done (Dixie Chicks).
More winning!
Does this mean he’s stopped believing?
I guess they all didn’t greet Trump with Open Arms.
any “celebrity” with only 30K “followers” online doesn’t really exist as a celebrity.... LOL
Journey went to shyt when Gregg Rollie left and that Perry guy started screeching about wheels coming off the bus or something.
Neil is a good axman though. Too bad he has TDS.
They have not been “Journey” since Steve Perry left the band.
And what about Sherry?
1. Neal would have been better off just saying nothing publicly and when asked saying “no comment”. Making a big stink about it merely told Journey’s fans they too needed to take sides; that Journey had become a political outfit. I don’t know what the stats are, but I am sure Journey has fans from all political persuasions.
2. But maybe Neal thought Journey needed more publicity lately and was pulling a May West - as in no publicity it bad publicity.
It’s strange. I don’t recall even one incident where a conservative threatened to break up a band or group because some of the members went to see Obama at the White House. Why is it only liberals act like children when other members visit an American president?
Oh gosh what a shame. /s
In September 2011, Schon publicly confirmed he was in a relationship with Michaele Salahi, who had previously crashed a White House state dinner, starred in Bravos Real Housewives and abruptly left husband Tareq Salahi to take up with Schon. The two said they had also dated years previously in the 1990s and were very happy together.[14][15]
I guess before they went to see the president they should have come to Neal with open arms, nothing to hide, hoping he’d see what his love means to them. Open arms.
Arnel Pineda is NOT Steve Perry... He sings NOTHING like Perry :/
AND, he looks like a tranny >.<
It’s hard to find original Journey music over here :p
