Former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown suggested that the Republican foreign policy establishment may want to see President Donald Trump impeached after dining with two of its most prominent members.
Last weekend, the legendary California Democrat wrote about a dinner invitation he received from former Secretary of State George Shultz and his wife Charlotte. In his San Francisco Chronicle column, Brown revealed that former Secretary of State and National Security Adviser Henry Kissinger attended the private dinner along with Michael Bloomberg, California Governor Jerry Brown (and his wife Anne), Tom Steyer, California gubernatorial candidate Gavin Newson (and his wife Jennifer), and San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee (and his wife Anita).
“The Republicans, at that level, do not want Trump in the Republican Party. They don’t want that burden,” Brown told Politico’s California Playbook this week when asked what his main “takeaway” was from that dinner. “And I think that’s going to translate into impeachment.”

Governors and Mayors need not apply. Ex-governors and Mayors, even less so.
Ex-Foreign Policy Advisors hold no special residual powers.
Once their term of office expires, they can go fishing.
Whatever President appointed them can go fishing too.
Most modern Mayors are too stupid to discuss in any Federal context. But, granted, most are delusional and legends in their own minds.
None get free coffee at Starbucks.
Thank you for your opinion. Duly noted.
Now, go away, please.
Ya think?? Wow. Such brilliance.
I’m on the fence o this one. One thing for sure, I would not trust Willie Brown with my pet mushroom for one second. This rabid leftists’ lexicon does not include the words, right, conservative, God, or anything based on common sense. He is a snake.
I disagree
They want him out. I want them dead. It’s all going to come to ahead and I bet on my kind first.
I disagree.
Send the targeting coordinates for Wash DC to the Norks.
Where’s some ISIS waiters, bomb vest-equipped, when we need one of two?
That they are not may explain most of the deterioration of what was once the greatest state in the union.
Just think the only conservative policy we accomplished was to give these people tax cuts.
And conservatives who don't pay attention to what he says are asking to have their guts ripped out. He's a brilliant political tactician for the Ultra-Left and he's engineering the Presidential run of another equally dangerous Lefty, Kamala Harris. I suspect that Schultz and Kissinger are helping that effort as well.
Bush Sr. openly despised conservatives, except at Election time when there was no alternative for his election. What the country club Republicans do not realize is that the left in the US will not vote for them under any circumstances; and there is no way to get elected if 80 percent of the Party base feels that you have insulted and despise them.
Lol! I will take former govenors, foreign policy makers, and Reps who are “lobbyists” and advisory stooges for multi-national corporations for $2000 Alex.
Do you think those posters are ignorant? All you need to do is look at various corporate boards, CFR, US Chamber of Commerce (Who act internationally btw), “advisors” that are ex-govoners, and Reps, etc. to see how tired your excuses are. It’s been the same old song and dance since WWI. Trump is indeed (At least what he stated in his campaign) a threat to a lot of people “with their hands in the cookie jar” who are disrupted by an “America first”/US nati
onalistic approach.
If someone had bombed that dinner party it would have become a national holiday.
GOPe hates real Americans
The history of Republicans stiffing conservatives goes back many decades. Anyone who is not aware should check into what they did to Taft at the convention in ~1952.
Well said.
It’s amazing how many FReepers are misinterpreting this article. Brown is not advocating impeaching Trump (at least not in the article) he’s reporting what was said at the dinner by the likes of checked-pants Repubs like Schultz and Kissinger and Bloomberg, and others.
