Why noncitizens should be given the right to vote
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | August 6, 2017 | Joe Mathews

Posted on 08/06/2017 9:30:04 AM PDT by artichokegrower

President Trump claims California allowed millions of noncitizens to vote in the 2016 elections. This allegation, while totally bogus, has put California on the defensive as Trump and his allies use the lie to justify a new federal commission devoted to making it harder for all Americans to vote.

Californians should go on offense — by embracing Trump’s ugly lie and transforming it into a beautiful civic truth. Let’s make our state more democratic — by guaranteeing California’s noncitizens the right to vote in local and state elections.

California is home to about 5 million adults (or 1 in 6 California adults) who can’t vote because they’re not citizens. This huge disenfranchised cohort is an affront to American principles.

Oh boy. Vote in Sharia Law, vote in the Caste system, vote in Communism, lot of bad stuff out in that world of noncitizens.

Next they’ll want the whole world to be able to vote in our presidential elections “because it effects them too” or some such.

I think China should determine who our next president is. It’s true that the billion people in China are not US citizens, but there are so many of them that I’m sure they can be trusted to come to a good decision. So why not?

Or, “Why (the armpit known as) kalifornia should be invaded by federal troops and all enemies of the state remanded to federal custody.” That would pretty much be every living person in red counties in that state.

Talking about fairness in election, how about those who receive more welfare than they pay in taxes be disqualified via conflict of interest? Also those on government payrolls for non life risking jobs (such as military, police, and fire fighting). People should not be able to vote themselves more money from tax payers.

Didn't they try that a couple of elections ago?

Amazing. All this trouble over a hopelessly corrupt old dowager who, without her husband and endless pandering, couldn’t even be elected president of her garden club.

Not all sh** is brown and sticky. Some of it is black and white and printed online. I can’t read this sh**.

My city is filled with homeless camping along all the freeways, illegals receiving taxpayer welfare, entry level jobs. No one in those jobs can afford rent. And the state wants to double down and give EVERY RIGHT to people who are not citizens and possibly not even legal residents.

California should be sued by the USA for unconstitutional actions.

Be careful there. I might propose a law to jail anyone named Joe Mathews. (I see your name has been bastardized already)
