The $12.9 billion USS Gerald R. Ford, which can carry about 5,000, is the first new US aircraft carrier designed in 40 years. Of course, a lot has changed in 40 years.
For one thing, its not uncommon to find women serving aboard such carriers these days. Women account for nearly 20% of the sailors in the US Navy. So, the ships designers adapted to the new reality. According to the Navy Times, the Ford has no urinalsonly seated toilets with stalls.

The lack of urinals is an engineering decision that has nothing to do with transgender nonsense.
Yep, they are great at picnic grounds that host huge clam bakes with lotsa beer!
Seated toilets? Well then, there's no serious problem here. Furthermore, isn't it true than men can urinate over the side of the vessel, or is that not a good idea?
There is a serious problem with the feminization of the military though.
The decision to allow or not allow women or homosexuals to serve in the military should be made by the Joint Chiefs of Staff only, and their only guiding principal should be the mission of the military, viz. the protection of the U.S.A. and its people.
>>>The lack of urinals is an engineering decision that has nothing to do with transgender nonsense<<<
Or, just a decision made by Transgender Engineers. #:^)
They used to have those at the Orange Bowl down in Miami.
Best is at big sporting events such as the Indy 500 — big, long troughs with a little running water to keep matters moving. This can accommodate many more folks than can urinals or sit-downers. Just makes sense.
How long before a sailor (not a sailorette) is brought up on charges for hosing down the toilet seat and/or leaving it down when finished?
>>My submarine, built in 1960, did not have urinals either<<
I assume a State if the Art 1100 Foot long Aircraft Carrier is a bit more stable than a 1960’s era Submarine.
I had to sit down to Pee when I went Sailing on a Relative’s 30’ Catalina. Otherwise the entire Head would probably have been glistening in yellow. LOL
That being said, being able to Piss while standing up is just another benefit of being a Man, which of course is completely unfair in today’s inclusive Society. #:^)
Or hold it the entire length of deployment.....
The WW2 barracks in Fort Eustice Va. didn't have stalls for toilets either.
This is outrageous. As far as I am concerned, the urinal is the third greatest invention of all time (after the light bulb and the hula hoop). Beer drinkers will understand.
Japan?
Virgin Airlines.
Weirdos ...
aircraft carriers don't use water, they displace water.
all kidding aside, it probably is less efficient on the non-potable water system to use toilets where a urinal would do, but even on aircraft carrier scale, it's not a significant concern when the vessel can filter new non-potable water as needed.
Link to where anyone said it did in this thread?
