American Airlines is disputing Lena Dunham’s claims that she overheard two female airline employees having a “transphobic talk” at the airport on Wednesday, saying the time stamps of her claims don’t add up.
A spokesperson for the airline told TheWrap that they are unable to substantiate the allegations made by the creator and star of HBO’s “Girls.” Dunham tweeted around 3 a.m. ET, said the airline spokesperson, when American’s last departure/arrival at JFK was around 1:45 a.m. ET.
Additionally, a video that Dunham posted around the same time showed that the actress was flying on Delta Air Lines, which according to the spokesperson, doesn’t operate out of Terminal 8, whereas American Airlines does. The two are not connected, argued the spokesperson. You can see a map of the terminals here.

It’s not believable. People know not to say something politically incorrect in the workplace these days, especially in such a public place as an airport.
And who has ever been so close to a couple of airline employees to hear them chat about what’s on their minds, let alone long enough to hear a thread of conversation.
I think because of this, some airlines should deny service to Lena Dunham. She can always take Greyhound or Megabus.

If you are a Social Justice Warrior or a Stalinist (same thing) nothing is off limits. Everyone must be PC in their actions, in their conversations, and - yes - even in their thoughts.

You mean a corporation has grown a backbone instead of doing a knee jerk reaction of firing a bunch of employees having nothing to do with whatever incident and herding the remaining into political indoctrination I mean sensitivity training?

To me, this more seems like American Airlines quietly pushing her to attack Delta.
A number of years ago when I was on a construction site, there were these two electricians who did cable terminations in junction boxes. They were a good team, got the work done. One man, one woman. One day the woman comes in wearing a Texas A&M t-shirt. The man said “ Nice t-shirt” - his kids went to A&M. Another woman walking by heard that, and filed a sexual harassment complaint, since he was sooo obviously hitting on his co-worker, despite her denials of such. Knee jerk reaction, he got fired. His co-worker quit in disgust soon after. I lost two good electricians that week.
“Overheard.” She was eavesdropping on a private conversation. Or, she made the whole thing up.
