Are Climate Warriors Giving Up?

Climate change warriors have transitioned from being motivated and enthusiastic to despondent and fatalistic. A Washington Post article this week headlined, “We only have a 5 percent chance of avoiding ‘dangerous’ global warming.” It looks to me like they have thrown in the towel. We are beyond the point of no return, whatever that means. The apocalypse is imminent.

Does that mean we can stop with the climate change talk and get on to repealing Obamacare, building the wall and cutting taxes? Doubtful. Despite the climate movement’s new fatalism, don’t expect them to give up and move on. Being 3 touchdowns down at the two-minute warning, they want to keep the starters in hoping for a miracle. Rather than accepting defeat and looking toward the next game.

Giving up? Nah, they're regrouping and strategizing for the next assault. Maybe they're meeting in manbearpigs secret underground lair. That might 'spalin his house using 30+ times as much power as the average (?) house.

Nope. A weatherman was suddenly cut due to his skepticism over gloBULL warming in our town after years of service.

They’ll give up once commies and eco-terrorists find a better cause to latch onto. For now, climate change gives them the best chances for
* getting attention
* redistributing wealth
* stopping new wealth from being created

“Are Climate Warriors Giving Up?”

Nope. Just waiting until the media gets tired of chasing Trump. After all, there’s only so many places to put enough space in the news to be seen and heard totally. It’s not their turn.

Their strategy was never very smart, allowing the politicians in their camp to allow China, India and other stragglers to blast out carbon emissions. This gave a strong impression to onlookers that they were not sincere about their fears, I mean if you really thought that a climate disaster was imminent, would you not insist that all countries cut back?

I don’t think they are totally wrong either, just a combination of over-hyping and under-estimating reality of economic conditions. Time will tell if there’s to be a major rise in temperatures ahead, or just a return to the centuries-old variability.

They may as well give up now and prepare for the rising seas since it’s fairly obvious that nothing much is going to be done. Then if they are right they can gloat to the rest of us in the lifeboats, and if they are wrong nobody will remember thirty years from now.

It’s only a matter of time. The “10 years to live” predictions started coming out in the 80’s. Al Gore’s movie came out 12 years ago. Last month an iceberg the size of Delaware and the volume of Lake Erie fell into the sea, and NOTHING HAPPENED. The only global warming hawks these days are idiots in Hollywood and Washington. The question now becomes how many 10 year flops can you accept before you understand that you are being conned? After Trump pulled out of Paris, these desperate money whores at the NOAA upped their calamity prediction to 3 years, so we have much shorter to wait before another prediction goes by the wayside.

Don’t suppose they ever watched as the ice melted in a refreshing beverage to witness what happened. Pretty anti-climactic.

Watched a climate piece on OANN yesterday that had a clip with Al Gore and some resident of an island or shoreline in the Chesapeake bay area. He said to Gore that he’d been there since the 70’s and he didn’t see any water level rise at all.

Gore’s answer was dumb and he had a deer in headlights look. “Bu...bu...but you’ve got to look at the research...” would be a fair paraphrase (because i don’t remember it verbatim).

Continental drift is a greater threat to coastal areas than global warming. In a thousand years CA will probably be in the Pacific ocean.
As soon as some educated climatologist can figure out how humans are causing continental drift we will have a new set of laws aimed at reducing the pressure on plate tectonics, something like walking on tippy toes and reducing body mass.

“The only global warming hawks these days are idiots in Hollywood and Washington.”

Sadly, you are wrong. Virtually very public school district and a probable majority of private schools are scaring the joy out of children with their outrageous scare propaganda about humans being responsible for destroying the earth and killing all the animals. It’s not hard to figure out why the suicide rate of our youth has shot up in tandem with the climate change religion taught to them from age 4 on. The best thing you can do for the mental health of children you love is to get them out of schools that are proselytizing for this pernicious religion.

No giving up with the Left. They'll just roll out another crisis -- another "The Erf is Doomed!", "The End of the World is Nigh!" scenario -- anything to prop up their weird secular religion and to promote government by the elite as the secular savior.

Freepers should engage in some entertaining speculation:
What will be the Left's next global doomsday scenario -- one that will play for years and that only a tyrannical government can save us from ourselves? (We've already had ALAR, heterosexual aids, ozone depletion, etc., etc. ....)

Giving up on the world responding “properly” to solve AGW but more money must spent to get the deck chairs all in proper order on their perceived AGW Titanic. That will take more money and totalist control than even fixing AGW before the point of now return was crossed.
