This wouldn’t be happening, if term limits AND recall was, already, in place, for each and every level of politician and judge!

I’m hoping that President Trump and AG Sessions do lots of things that are good for the country while the swampthings (most of DC) and the Sewer Rats (the US Senate) are away from DC. They aren’t there to oppose everything positive he enacts.

There's a hundred or so, right there...

doing so might create acrimonious relations between the Congress and the White House.

Aren't they already?

But it is worse than just McConnell.

Every. Single. Republican. Agreed.

My only conclusion is they all signed up to remove Trump.

It’s a coup.

Why did they ALL vote for it?

I don’t like the 17th amendment either, but it isn’t the root of our problems. The root of our problems is Christians and conservatives who are not willing to join the culture war and separate themselves and their children from the Bernie factories aka socialist government schools. Whatever we do on the Constitution front at this stage is simply a matter of re-arranging deck chairs on the Titanic. If we want to stop the Republic from sinking, we need to strike at the roots of the rot, which are: news media, government schools, Hollywood and corporate America (infested with anti-Christians and globalists). Getting out of the public school system not only saves our children, it stands as an example or a Witness to others.

Wow, gay.

IRRC the courts upheld this tactic when it was used to good effect against Obama.

Thoughts?

Never have I seen such a display and concerted effort to destroy and impede a sitting President and his ability to govern since perhaps Andrew Johnson.

We need to do a wholesale clean sweep of the entire House and Senate.

For which were usually bribed and bought (or vice-versa). There’s a reason why the 17th was enacted. Everyone and their mother knew the Senate had been corrupted a long time ago and equally corrupt state legislators “choosing” the Senators was a joke.

Time for drastic change. Congress is the Deep State, too.

Agreed. All this talk of 'civil war' isn't going to happen, either. Modern Americans aren't cut from the same cloth as those in the days of the Founders...not even close.

Had Trump not stated that he wanted to fire Jeff Sessions—one of the most conservative public officials in American history—and replace him with God knows who, Senate Republicans wouldn’t have taken such action. There are a lot of reasons to criticize Senate Republicans, but standing as a bulwark against the appointment of Kushner-approved liberals is not one of them.

It certainly was the first time that I heard any Senate Republican hint at staying in session. This is from July 27: http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/449935/senate-backs-sessions
