The jobs report is out and it’s a beat.

In July, the U.S. economy added 209,000 jobs, more than the 180,000 expected by economists. The robust 222,000 jobs added in June were also revised up to 231,000.

Over the last three months, job gains have averaged 195,000 per month.

In July, the unemployment rate fell to 4.3%, as expected. In June, the unemployment rate stood at 4.4%.

By industry, job gains were concentrated in the services sector with leisure and hospitality employment rising by 62,000 in July while the education and health services industry added 54,000 jobs. Professional and business services jobs rose by 49,000 in July.

Overall, 22,000 jobs were added to the goods-producing sector, with 16,000 jobs added in manufacturing and 6,000 added in construction.

And this doesn’t even reflect the 50,000 full time jobs Amazon just created/filled.

Workforce labor participation rate remains the same as January and only .1 above July of last year. And number of people not in the workforce has risen from 94,366,000 in January to 94,657,000 in July. A little premature to be dancing in the streets.

I don’t disagree. However, summer is typically a dead time for hiring so this is good news.

Leftists are in desperation to seek some way to destroy this success. I very much hope they are experiencing the same feeling when their counterparts, the dinosaurs looked up one day about 65M years and thought, “What’s that bright thing coming right at us?”

The media will do all it can to NOT tie this to Trump.

...and meanwhile all of Washington, D.C. is conspiring to destroy this presidency. Such disconnect.

“A little premature to be dancing in the streets.”

I noticed this, too. They are celebrating an event that will take 3 years to break even with at the current pace which has to slow down when the jobs get substandard. Right now, there is a business hiring boom. When that boom turns into fast food and house cleaning positions, it will come to a screeching halt and waver with the same job improvement changes we have had for many years. But that’s just a break even for these numbers, 1 for 1.

My Lord they can get excited easy. They seem to forget it took a lot of years to get it this way. Trump doesn’t have a magic wand.

NOt to be a buzz kill....but this number of jobs has to be subtracted from the number of first time jobless claims over the same period to generate a truer picture. Then the number of employed divided by number of unemployed and out of workforce you yeild and accurate picture.

The current U6 number is 8.9% and probably higher as the numbers are still based on protecting Onambla.

I recall an era, not long ago, when the headline ALWAYS read: “Jobs report falls short of expectations”.

Even after the following week’s revision, it never measured up.

Winning!

As long as the jobs created are full-time, permanent positions, I’m a lot happier than I was with Obummer’s miserable string of part-time, temporary positions created.

I’ll applaud one factory position more than I will a dozen Starbucks jobs.

President Trump addressed this specific point in West Virginia yesterday, acknowledging while the unemployment rate dropped he knew there were millions who'd given up looking and weren't being counted. He vowed to get the economy going and get them back involved in it.

I cheered that statement. Every President before him has cited just the unemployment number and declared victory. President Trump is really in touch with what's going on in the country and how people are really hurting despite this so-called "good news."

I was impressed and thankful he acknowledged people still hurting.

How long do we allow it to remain a promise instead of a promise delivered. Do we give it a year, two years or a term?

I’ve no idea. I think part of the problem is all the illegal immigration that’s been allowed by past Presidents. President Trump seems to be going after that and wanting to fix the problems with legal immigration and “chain immigrants” now too. I applauded the changes he wants the other day. Thing is, it USED TO BE THAT WAY! When my family came over, they had to have a sponsor, a job and know (or learn quickly) english. They weren’t given housing vouchers, food stamps, etc.. If they didn’t work, they didn’t eat. We really need to go back to that!

There are businesses begging for workers. Too many applicants are drugged out, have poor math skills or won’t show up.

I saw that yesterday too. A woman that owns a company in Ohio was complaining she has jobs open but can’t find anyone sober to fill those jobs.
