Attorney General Jeff Sessions will hold a press conference announcing on-going leak investigations on Friday.
The investigations into various government leaks have "been in the works for some time," an official familiar with the matter told CBS News' Paula Reid.
It is expected that leaks related to the Manchester terror attack will be part of the Justice Department's investigation, as well as other leaks of sensitive information to the media.
Sessions recently faced criticism from President Trump for not being "tougher on the leaks from the intelligence agencies."
While it is atypical for the Department of Justice to announce investigations, the attorney general issued a statement in May hinting at potential leak investigations.
"These leaks cannot be tolerated and we will make every effort to put an end to it," Sessions' statement reads, referencing the Manchester terror attack leaks. "We have already initiated appropriate steps to address these rampant leaks that undermine our national security."

Mueller needs to be investigated for running a loose lips ship.

LOL! Repeat worthy BUMP
The FBI is involved. Who do you think was at Dulles airport stopping Awan from leaving the country?
Dream on.
Didn’t Awan get out on bail?
Sure wish it would be his resignation speech ! He’s been quite a disappointment, and his recusal - the catalyst of the current Probe ... arghhh, what a moron .... I’m a little old lady and coulda figured out what a stupid move that would be !
kabar, you are sorely behind. Trust me, you do not know a fraction of a fraction of the Awan group and their Paki Spy Ring used as a ‘liaison loophole’. I am too tired to write a summary as it would take several pages.
The shortest version is that Dirty Cop McCabe had to arrest Awan at Dulles because the charges were levied by a high profile source. And now the story is buried.
And you should note that Comey and McCabe let another Awan go in March this year on the same charges.
So for now, take note that you need to come up to speed badly. If you really want to educate yourself, start by finding two Youtube channels, one for George Webb and the other for Jason Goodman.
The United States Coast Guard, for one.
Happy 227th, Coasties!
You have correctly stated the Free Republic dogma thereby disassociating your self from a process you do not comprehend
A little late from my perspective. Why bother Jeff?
Awan is out on bail. His wife left the country with unaccounted for $$. You, my friend, as an American citizen, would be in a jail cell.
"Hey scrunchy." George is nuts and right on target at the same time. Guess you have to be a little nuts to take on Spectre.
All sessions will do is tell us how leaks are bad and he’s gonna get those bad people. Meanwhile, leaks will increase exponentially.
kabar, if you are genuinely interested in getting up to speed, do yourself a favor and start here:

I don’t expect to be thanked because class is a rare quality these days.
Sessions doing nothing.
Possible explanations:
1. He is working hard behind the scenes and we can’t see what he’s doing yet.
2. He is part of the problem.
3. He is lazy and really is doing nothing.
4. He is being blackmailed into doing nothing.
5. He is actively trying to thwart any genuine investigation.
6. He is protecting one or more criminals (Hitlery, 0vomit, Comey, .....)
7. He is in over his head and has no idea what to do.
8. ?

Sessions, Coats to address intelligence leaks Friday
http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/345178-sessions-and-dni-holding-press-briefing-on-leaks-friday-morning
Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats will hold speak on Friday morning about the Trump administration’s ongoing efforts to combat intelligence leaks, according to a Justice Department statement.
Sessions and Coats will deliver remarks at 11 a.m. on “leaks of classified material threatening national security,” according to the statement.
Following those remarks, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and National Counterintelligence and Security Center Director William Evanina will talk to reporters in an “off-camera pen and pad discussion.”
Investigating is one thing, prosecuting and punishment is another. I could care less who the person that “leaks” information is,, the more important issue is that they suffer the consequences of their actions.
Excuse me?? You’d like to elaborate?
