Senate blocks Trump from making recess appointments
Axios ^ | August 3, 2017 | Susan Walsh

Posted on 08/03/2017 6:32:33 PM PDT by Pinkbell

The Senate moved unanimously to block President Trump from making appointments during the August break this evening. Democrats had said they'd make such a move after reports emerged that Trump was considering replacing Attorney General Jeff Sessions during the recess.

The Senate agreed to hold pro forma sessions throughout the recess. This procedure was also used to block appointments during the Obama administration.

Worth noting: the announcement was made by moderate Republican Lisa Murkowski, who split from Trump over health care. The Senate also made a slew of confirmations and passed several measures before shutting down for the summer.

Another update: The Senate will not hold any legislative sessions until September. Mitch McConnell had previously intended to delay the break until August 11 to allow the now-stalled health care plan to move forward.

As an Alabamian Roy Moore is a terrible choice. The ONLY choice is Mo Brooks who is much more conservative and has a brain.

In a general civil war the current standing army of 700,000 would be seed corn at best. You are looking at 6-7 million strong armies on each side to fight Civil War II.

So if positions do not get filled for 8 years, does that imply that the position and all of the government employees under that position are not needed at all?

Great idea for a new rule: If a position remains vacant for, say, one year, it is eliminated.

My top three that should be gone in that group are Flake, Graham, and Moocowski.

Accepting your numbers for sake of argument, the next question is, which side is best prepared? The pro-2nd-amendment patriots or the anti-gun, Progressive faction?

Anybody who claims that McConnell is not a traitor is either stupid or lying.

The elites have picked their side and it is not our side. Their hatred of Americans is palpable and they’re looking out for their own and stabbing 95% of Americans in the back to do it.

Be prepared.

Because they knew bloody well Obama would appoint czars. Knew they were hopeless. Trump “playing by the rules”? They have him by the “short and curlies”.

It occurs to me that the British tried to pull this shit back in the 1700s.

Half the armed forces would fight for the Feds, the other half for the rebellion. Pretty much like the last civil war.

Of all the sh!t I’ve seen the Republicans pull, this takes the cake.

Vote Democrat in 2018. We can fix it in 2020.

They don't hate all Americans. Just the white working class ones.

He should just order Congress back into session. That would get their goat.

I don’t know if it would be divided that evenly...

My guess is most of the rank and file would be pro American...That is to say the rebellion...
