Top health insurance companies in numerous states are looking to hike premiums by double-digits some by roughly 30 percent or more for ObamaCare plans in 2018, according to newly released figures that could light a fire under stalled efforts on Capitol Hill to fix the program.
A lot of us have lost focus on the fact that the system we have doesnt work, White House Budget Director Mick Mulvaney told Fox & Friends on Wednesday, referring to the proposed premium hikes.
The Wall Street Journal reported that major insurers in Idaho, West Virginia, South Carolina, Iowa and Wyoming are pitching premium hikes averaging 30 percent or higher.
Other states also could see double-digit hikes, including New Mexico, Tennessee and Texas while elsewhere, insurers are eyeing smaller increases.
The requests are preliminary and could change before insurers strike 2018 agreements with federal officials in the fall.

No up's, no extras!
The ol’ 8% rule will kick in for more and more people. Sweet!
If the law (as written) allows it, raise them all you want and kill Obamacare.
If the law as written does not allow it then no, no hikes. Should that cause the insurer to go broke, fine. That will kill Obamacare.
Should the insurer withdraw from Obamacare then fine. That kills Obamacare.
There is no crisis and the market doesn’t need anymore meddling.
When it implodes, it will wreak serious havoc on our country on many fronts. It looks like trump is trying to push up the implosion timetable to get the congress to act if they want to keep their lives, much less their jobs.
Trump will be blamed for this. The “uncertainty” will force insurers to raise prices or drop out of the market.

Great, let ‘em have it. The more Obamacare impacts people negatively the more positive the midterm election results will be.
Let it burn. Rebuild.
Best strategy for the GOP:
Give up efforts to repeal and replace. It’s obvious the Dims will not vote for it nor will the turncoat traitorous Repubs like McCain, Collins, and Murkowski.
Obamacare is a disaster. Premiums are skyrocketing as are deductibles. It going to crash on it’s own.
And the best part is, the Dims and the turncoat Repubs will own it. President Trump and the conservative wing of the GOP will bear no responsibilty for this POC.
Exactly. Right.
Thanks McCain the stain.
You can't con an honest person very easily
Most people understand that ObamaCare is a scam, they just figure they are cashing in on the scam. The stupidity for most comes in when don't understand that THEY are the rich people who are going to paying for other people's insurance
A lot of us have lost focus on the fact that the system we have doesnt work,
Yeah...maybe YOU and Congress have lost focus but WE the People sure as hell have not. We see the stinking bullcrap pile of failure every damn day.
Up to 43% in Illinois. That is about 90% in 2 years..
Cause these 'rate hikes' don't hurt 'the poor' or the 'close to poor' they are aimed at hard working middle class Americans... just like Obama and his merry band of liberal elites intended.
Yep, damaging the middle class was the intent... the 'winners' live in inner cities - the 'losers' wake up every day, go off to a job and try to support their families. None of this was a mistake. The winners: members of democrat victim groups. Losers: Middle Class working citizens.... Obama and Nancy chose the 'winners' in this 'insuranceCare' system from hell.
The whole thing is designed to make you panic, scream, and demand single payer.
I’m not so sure it ain’t working.
Ask Congress & their staffers for it $$!
Invest in pitchforks, rope and guillotines.
