Author J.K. Rowling issued an apology Monday after falsely accusing President Donald Trump of refusing to shake hands with a disabled boy by sharing an edited video clip on her social media account over the weekend. The boys mother lashed out at Rowling, saying that the Harry Potter scribe wrongly said Trump ignored and refused to shake her disabled sons hand during a recent meet-and-greet.
If someone can please get a message to JK Rowling: Trump didnt snub my son & Monty wasnt even trying to shake his hand, Ms. Kelly Weer wrote in a post on Facebook, slamming Rowlings inaccurate description of a video showing her son meeting President Trump.
1. Hes 3 and hand shaking is not his thing 2. he was showing off his newly acquired secret service patch). Thanks, Weer wrote.
Rowling, a regular critic of the president, blasted Trump and claimed he deliberately ignored the boy, Monty Weer, who suffers from spina bifida.

Tucker Carlson showed the shortened clip that all of the anti-Trumper’s ran “showing” him refusing to shake hands.
Tucker then ran the ENTIRE clip, which has President Trump coming on stage, and squatting down/kneeling next to the boy for 30 seconds or so and then getting up making his presentation and then shaking hands with everyone else.
Bottomline: President Trump gave his attention to the 3-year old boy when he came onto stage, the boy was thus “first in line” and NOT ignored.

Soooo, not being a North Korean, do you refrain from commenting on Lil Kim? How about Merkle?I neither comment on nor do I give a shite about either. You can look at my posting history to verify if you like.
That said, you are correct. Rowling is perfectly free (as far as I know in the UK) to comment as she pleases. But why anyone thinks her opinion matters anymore than anyone else's is puzzling.

It would be nice if she, and others, commented with truth and not lies. I mean, unless you’re in support of passing on lies to the gullible public...

Id opine that getting involved with the Cult of Potter is unwise anyhow. It has been very instructive to see how many Christian parents encourage their children to read Potter. Nothing wrong, necessarily, with fantasy but to promote this has been destructive.

I sometimes wonder what kind of answer that C. S. Lewis would have come up with for Potter, had the two been contemporary writers.
Some of his allegorical works come close to that genre.

Have never read any of her books nor seen any of the movies. Plan to keep it that way. I picked up one of the books and didn't finish the first page.
Such leaden prose as that will never draw me in.

I bet Rowling beleves the “mocked a disabled reporter” story.
That lie has been repeated by Mark Shea (Land Whale) and countless others.

a RAT apology
Re: my tweets about the small boy in a wheelchair whose proferred hand the president appeared to ignore in press footage, Rowling wrote.
[M]ultiple sources have informed me that that was not a full or accurate representation of their interaction.
I very clearly projected my own sensitivities around the issue of disabled people being overlooked or ignored onto the images I saw and if that caused any distress to that boy or his family, I apologise unreservedly.
These tweets will remain, but I will delete the previous ones on the subject.
so, if it hadn't caused any distress, she wouldn't have apologized even though she was wrong.

Rowling is an intelligent person who illustrates yet again, unnecessarily, that liberalism is a mental disorder.
